I just (re-)discovered GOG.com. I used it some back in '09 when I only played games on a laptop (console emulation + some some downloaded PC games).
Wow. Holy crap. Akalabeth and Ultima IV for free. Might and Magic 1-6 for 10 bucks?! Indie games like Pier Solar, Hotline Miami, Shovel Knight, Freedom Planet, Escape Goat... Mothereffing FALCOM GAMES. Printable artwork!!!!!!!!
noise was right, I think I am falling under the spell of PC gaming. This site is going to kill my wallet.

Whoa there, little doggie. I suggest you hold up and wait for a sale. Why buy Might and Magic 1-6 for under $10 when you could get the entire series for that price? Keep an eye out and don't shoot early. I have picked up quite a few games that way for even less than they already charge.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I just (re-)discovered GOG.com. Hold on a minute. We've been talking about all those Ys games on GOG (AFAIK in the GOG Deal thread) and possibly elsewhere, and you just rediscovered it today??????BoneSnapDeez wrote:I just (re-)discovered GOG.com. I'll second the "wait for sales" thing. GOG has so much awesome stuff on it that you can build up a mighty backlog in a single sale and still have a full wishlist.

I've been in this mood lately to just replay games I already know I love instead of playing the variety of games I haven't touched just sitting around. I feel guilty about this because I also have quite the backlog. (Not one of you here have that problem right?)

In the back of my mind I probably knew about 'em. I surely knew they were on Steam. I have been importing physical PC releases of Falcom games, but what a pain all the installing/patching is.
I typically ignore digital games (to my own detriment, I know) but the fact that I can create physical DVD-ROMs w/ cover art of GOG titles is incredibly alluring. 'Course that's a huge undertaking and not something I'll do any time soon...

Just call it a "library" and not a "backlog" and it helps with the shakes.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I also have quite the backlog. (Not one of you here have that problem right?)
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

With this launch lineup, no one wonder PSX destroyed the competition. This is probably the best lineup for a first time competitor in the console world, maybe the best first 3 years of any console.
I wonder what Sony did to get so much support, FF VII was a psx exclusive!
