Re: Project Eternity/Pillars of Eternity
24 hrs in. Currently in Act III.
I was doing the quest in Noonfrost. I realized that nobody in my party was leveled up in Mechanics enough to pick all the locks I needed in there, so I decided to get out and do some sidequests. Did that a bit and decided to just recruit a new guy and boost his Mechanics off the bat. So I made a dwarf w/ 7 Mechanics and swapped him in for the Grieving Mother for now.
Went back and got to the end of Noonfrost and spent at least an hour and a half attempting that battle. It was brutal. Just kept attempting over and over again. Finally out of frustration I just decided to
Which meant that
Wasn't really the decision I had wanted to make, but I just felt like I was in over my head. So now I've got to deal with it.
Probably gonna work on more side quests in Act III for a while. My characters are all around level 5, 6 and 7 right now.

Wait, levels 5-7 in act III?
You seem SEVERELY underleveled.

Re: Project Eternity/Pillars of Eternity
I'm sure I am. That's generally how I play RPG's. I tend to avoid most sidequests, tend to be really cheap so I don't spend much on new weapons or armor... so yeah, in most RPG's I'm usually underleveled.MrPopo wrote:Wait, levels 5-7 in act III?

That said, I'm enjoying this game so immensely that I kind of want to go around and do more sidequests than I have been. Am I correct that the level cap is at 12?
Re: Project Eternity/Pillars of Eternity
That's correct. If you start going into the sidequests that should be what gets you to the cap. And I recommend you do get to the cap, as the final boss is quite the difficult fight.

Yeah I capped right before the last area. I have the opposite approach, I do every sidequest and try to complete all content. The npc quests will add a lot of flavor and world lore too.

Re: Project Eternity/Pillars of Eternity
yeah, I mean I've done *some* sidequests here and there in Acts I and II, but it was sparingly. But knowing the cap is 12 then it makes sense to aim for it via sidequests and exploration for a while.

I think a bunch from the big city are gone now since you are in Act III. The stronghold dungeon is pretty fun for loot and combat.noiseredux wrote:yeah, I mean I've done *some* sidequests here and there in Acts I and II, but it was sparingly. Re: Project Eternity/Pillars of Eternity
Yeah I know that you lose access to bunch of First Fire stuff once you enter Act III, but eh, seems like there's still plenty of stuff to explore. And actually I'm pretty sure I could even go back and do some side stuff in the Act I sections even.Jmustang1968 wrote:I think a bunch from the big city are gone now since you are in Act III. I actually didn't even realize there was a stronghold dungeon. Cool. I'll check that out for sure.
