Nintendo Handheld Gaming Thread (Game Boy to DS)
Re: Nintendo Handheld Gaming Thread (Game Boy to DS)
The pocket rocket duster thing is reusable as long as you're fine to keep squeezing it like some dog squeak toy.
I had the pocket repeat back in the day. I went into a pop up indoor flea/used goods store about a week back now and I saw one in there for like $10, figured it was probably a tad high so I looked online and saw you could buy one complete for less, so I put a $3 bid on a item with $3 shipping and won it. It would make for a fun desk toy, plus I think my 3 year old would probably enjoy it too.
...And on that subject of the three year old girl. I got a nice set of little packages today, most of the GB games I had out in the mail (Castlevania Legends, Kirby Star Stacker, and both of the Dream Land games.) I put her down in front of the original Kirby with the color buttons ascii pad and the Retron 5. She went at it for a good hour. I'm surprised how far she made it. She took down all of the whole first stage minus Wispy Woods the tree boss, she just didn't get it, but the sub-boss she learned to throttle just standing there and going for it. It's perfect as a trainer, no copy ability, 6 hit life bar, non-aggressive enemies in many cases, and NO timer.

Yeah most of the early kirby games are like a beginners platformer. Not that they aren't enjoyable to anyone else. I play kirby adventure and dreamland all the time. My wife isn't to good at mario and megaman, so I made her play kirby. She was amazed with how she could put some levels away.

Its amazing in the kirby games you can go the entire game just flying over everything and not fighting anything, its like having a permanent P wing in SMB 3 hahastrangenova wrote:Yeah most of the early kirby games are like a beginners platformer. My love will always be for the GBA. I got my indigo GBA on launch in 2001 as I was transitioning into 8th grade. First game was the first Mario Advance game which was SMB2. During my time throughout high school I didn't have the collector mentality so I never hung on to boxes. (The collector in me came to light during the DS era.) I had amassed a sizable collection when that collector came out later during the GBA life.
The games I enjoyed the most were Pokemon Ruby, Golden Sun 1 & 2, and Sonic Advance with the whole Chao Garden connectivity when I played Sonic Advanture on the GameCube. Special mention to Mega Man Battle Network 3 and Riviera.
Now I have but a shadow of my former collection. I own one of every Pokemon game released, Ultimate Card and Brain Games, and 4 CIB JPN GBA micro Famicom Edition. I'm content.

All right, I love Ultimate Card Games. It's also on the DS with better looking graphics.casterofdreams wrote:Now I have but a shadow of my former collection. I own one of every Pokemon game released, Ultimate Card and Brain Games, and 4 CIB JPN GBA micro Famicom Edition. I'm content.

I have that as well along with Clubhouse Games. I like these kinds of games that compile classic board and card games in one location.ExedExes wrote:All right, I love Ultimate Card Games. My lost street fighter 2 GB game arrived today, kicked the games ass on defaults with Ryu. That game catches a lot of undeserved crap, but it's really not bad at all. You just have to adapt to the platform a little and it's good.

I've got Clubhouse Games. That's flat out awesome too. There's a lot of card stuff I never saw before. Plus the extra modes. I'm working on the Stamp mode now.casterofdreams wrote:I have that as well along with Clubhouse Games. I like these kinds of games that compile classic board and card games in one location.

I bleed the tank to, just to be safe. Less of an issue with an airbrush, more of one when using it as a duster.Ziggy587 wrote:Never even knew about them. I always just bleed the tank and never had a problem. I'll look into getting one though, that sounds awesome.fastbilly1 wrote:Just get yourself a moisture trap. I use a Paasche one mostly because it came with one of my Paasche airbrushs.Ziggy587 wrote:And there's moisture in the air, which is obviously no good for electronics.
A good buddy of mine that use to do alot of component work had a big compressor in is garage with a trap feeding two buried lines that went into a holding tank in his basement (diverse paths, just to be safe). Then from the holding tank he had a second moisture trap going to a tap on his workbench. The air would come out so dry it felt like it would burn you. Granted he did component work for a living and worked from home often. I think he had more soldering irons than I have screw drivers.
But to get back on topic:
I would love a GBA SP sized handheld that could play GBA and before games. It is damn near perfection in a handheld. My SP has a flash cart in it right now running Super Dodgeball, Mario Advance 1, and Chu Chu Rocket. Best launch lineup ever.
