Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

That was dangerously close to "I think Moz is a pretty cool guy. Posts opinions and doesn't afraid of anything."

It's just that I'd rather not be around people that think drinking themselves stupid is a fun time. But unfortunately, I don't live by myself (someday though, I hope I can afford it). Where I live, on a college campus, with college students, it's incredibly annoying to have a handful of loud, obnoxious drunk and/or high people evey friday and saturday night.
I dislike it being surrounded by people like that as well. I have found however that it is highly context sensitive as to what kind of reaction you will get. The more people, the rowdier (SP) they will be. A small group of people just enjoying drinks doesn't change things from normal.

Personally I feel alcohol is used as an "excuse" to unwind, a way to get outside yourself and be forgiven for doing something beyond the norm.

I do not drink but have found it to be the normal socially acceptable practice and can be ostracized if you don't follow it. As a result, I took a long time to find a drink I can enjoy. I still don't enjoy it, but hey, I can drink it in a group and fit in.

Being around people that have a couple of drinks is perfectly fine for me. However, my friends do not "have a couple of drinks" They get shit-faced in 30 minutes.

Yeah, that's another common trend I've found. I've been drunk, it's nothing satisfying, but thats my own opinion and my biology might react differently. Either way, I hope they are at least responsible enough to not drive while under the influence.

I know. But I felt it would be funnier to have a large picture of a duck.

For the purists:

Look guys, there's gonna be a new sega system!

That would be nice if people were that responsible, wouldn't it?

This is way off topic now.
I'm gonna close this.
Post a real BST thread and keep it that way if you want to get this back on track
