What do you guys think will be the rare/valuable games for the Wii U in the future?

So far I'm thinking Pikmin 3, Lego City, and Wii Sports Club

But it can be hard to say. Maybe Watch_Dogs? That certainly didn't sell any number of copies on the system.

I don't get the impression that poorly-performing ports of games that sold fine elsewhere become expensive unless they're got some special unique quality on the rare version. Instead of paying a premium for the rare version, people buy the common version. That's what I see on Gamecube ports anyway; they cost a little more on average than the Xbox or PS2 versions, but they're not outrageous by any means.

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect says hello. Xbox goes for about $13 and PS2 for $22. NGC version is around $45-50. Beyond Good & Evil isn't as bad but it's still $15 more then either of the other two versions. That's not the only ones but it's the two off the top of my head.

Started playing Mario 3d World U about noon Saturday, when my wife left for a concert. Stop playing when my wife walked back in from said concert 14 hours later... On world 7, 3 star on every map so far, except the level 4 ghost house. Stamps on most. Great title, even if some of the stars were in jerk places.

Definitely the first party games - Wii Sports club still hangs around original MSRP (you can get it for $55 new on eBay) for example. Was just curious, why Lego City?

Still saying it has no games is not accurate either way though without adding, that that person wants to buy or would buy.

Any one knows the number of retail releases for the Wii U? I tried to Google this in many different ways but no where can I find a reliable number. I find it hard to believe the Wii U already has more games than the 64, especially when the 64 had 2.5 more years in its life and sold 3x more in units.

The number of physical, retail releases for the Wii U is drastically less than the number for the N64. The easiest way to get a good count is probably by going to Price Charting and counting them up.

Searching RF Generation, I see 136 retail titles for Wii U; that does not include collector's editions or variants. I count 114 (give or take my counting skills) retail games for Wii U. That's not horrible if you're looking to complete a set of the games. Some of it is still filler, but I just added 17 games to my wishlist on RF Generation of some really good quality games. I completely forgot Darksiders II came out on Wii U.

Provided you don't get one of the save bugs its a pretty great version of it too. All the DLC content in there. It's funny hearing people get all excited over the PS4/One re-release when that came to WiiU back in 2012. Admittedly without any graphical upgrades*

I feel like some of those lesser known WiiU ports are going to be in Five and Below stores in a couple years (hey, I got Metroid Other M there!)
