Welp, it looks like the game's content really will depend on how far the Kickstarter goes per update #15. I'm getting a little nervous now. I know we're in a slow period and the money wasn't going to roll in by the thousands all day every day, but the thought of missing out on potentially 1/3 or maybe 2/3 of the game is scary. I hope we're not wondering what could have been. Also, in a perfect world I'd prefer more expansion of the world little by little as opposed to the fighting system. In the previous games fighting was just a means to reach the next part of the game for me. Just my opinion.

Two random thoughts: There's zero stretch goals between $5 and $6 million for anyone that doesn't speak Portuguese, and also: we have to chip in another $3 mil for rag doll physics? That's strange.

Seriously all of those stretch goals are amazing and like the rest of the kickstarter community I'm worried what we might not possibly see. Those locations obviously mean something to Yu Suzuki and id really love to know and understand the symbolism and purpose of them, and explore. Let's hope we can crank it out.

As others in reddit and Shenmue Dojo communities, a Patreon and PayPal account could really benefit Yu Suzuki and help sustain them a little further through development. I'd kick a few bucks here and there every month or so to help the project along.

The kickstarter isn't really there to fund the game, it's to prove the interest in it exists for investors to cough up the core funding.
It's not the first project to use kickstarter this way.

That was night and day obvious when the $2 million goal was set.
No one in their right mind thought that was creating the game.

The 5/10 million statements have made that more murky, especially without a stream of proper, interesting, stretch goals on the kickstarter page itself.

It'll certainly help more with the game, but try to also keep in mind the idea that the more is raised, then the more the people/companies truly funding the game will be willing to invest.

Read the kickstarter. The media messed up.

Actually, in this case, the Kickstarter will be providing a large portion of the development funds, apparently. There's been talk of that recently. I hope a good kickstarter will get other funding sources engaged, but there's a chance not.

Knew I had this around somewhere. Bought at a Japanimation store over 10 years ago. Finally going to add to my iTunes library (as my old ass MacBook chugs and fails to keep copying as of track 7).

If any of you are willing to take part, there's a '$30 on the 3rd' campaign happening in the shenmue community. If we all pledge just an extra $30 on the 3rd July, it could really help.
