Thanks for all that information MrPopo, you're the man.
Now I'm interested in playing a Might & Magic game. Do you know if there are modern equivalents of Might & Magic in the more current era? I mean like how you said EO and Dark Spire carry the Wizardry torch. And Grimrock is an evolved Dungeon Master. What modern games invoke the spirit of Might & Magic then?

I usually eschew the digital stuff, but I may have to cave and get this. Would be good to play on the run. Thanks for the rec.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Download Fairune for your Nintendo 3DS. It is an homage to classic Ys games, and it is only $ in the Nintendo eShop. (I got it a while ago, and I am itching to play it.)BoneSnapDeez wrote:Gonna try to roll through at least one short-ish JRPG before I go on vacation for a week..... I'll figure it out soon.
As for now, I think I'll do Spike McFang!

I used to be that way too...then I realized that most of the games I have really enjoyed recently only received digital releases. (I am also reunnign out of storage space for my collection.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I usually eschew the digital stuff, but I may have to cave and get this. Would be good to play on the run. Well my daughter doesn't like Spike. May have to put that one on hold for a bit.

You could snag Might and Magic X, which came out a year or two ago. It's grid based and was based on the gameplay style of IV & V. It also doesn't have any story ties to the earlier games since it's in the Ubisoft universe.Exhuminator wrote:Thanks for all that information MrPopo, you're the man.

Re: RPG Progress Report
That is a shame. I can't think of any other short ones on the SNES or Super Famicom that you haven't beaten without a good reason(like Brain Lord...)BoneSnapDeez wrote:Well my daughter doesn't like Spike. May have to put that one on hold for a bit.

But she's demanding we finish Kirby Super Star...... again.
There are some short JPN exclusives I haven't beaten either....

I'm about six hours into Lufia now. I'm looking for a fourth member for my team.
I had read that this game holds up unfavourably from a storyline perspective with things like Secret of Mana. I don't get that. There seems to be a lot more to Lufia's characters and world than there was to SoM's stripped down characterization.
