As far as making more money goes, Shenmue 3's Kickstarter will make more money from backers than it did.

not exactly. He likes PS2 compilations... of VCS and Intelivison games.

Nah, I like plenty of newer stuff...... My 360/PS3/Wii U are always hooked up... but generally speaking I prefer 3rd/4th gen the most.

And most of my Summer Challenge trash-talkin' was more related to poor "classic" choices than bashing games themselves.
My posts about FFVIII disagree

I'm not trolling in anyway because I'm glad the fans are getting the game they have wanted for so long.

But I have to say when they showed the little rock jumping segment......ugh gross. That looked and sounded like the worst thing I've ever seen from a gaming perspective. I'm not a Shenmue fan because I've never played it, but I sincerely hope it looks and sounds better than that upon release. That voice acting was too terrible to be considering good because it's so bad ala RE1 "Jill Sandwich".

I will say that Yu Suzuki (I believe that to be his name) is brilliant for announcing his Kickstarter at E3. While I know this game would have made it's funding either way, but during E3 people are pumped for the new games and have those endorphins swirling. Which I'm sure makes the money flow a little better than it would otherwise.

The voice acting will not be that. What you saw was really more of a proof of concept. The voice acting will be done by professionals, including the original Japanese voice for Ryo. Still, play the game for yourself!

All this hype is making me want to play through the first (using the guide bogus is talking about) then transfer the save over to 2 and finally give it a full playthrough.

Oh my GOD! Can't Sega pay for this project. This'll be the start of a new trend of multinational corporations e-begging. What's next? Valve asking for money for Half-Life 3?!
noiseredux wrote:and it's coming to PC!

I have a hunch we will finally see 1 & 2 ported to PC before this is released.
NO! Shenmue must be played on a CONSOLE! Playing it on a PC would be WRONG!

Alright, enough blue text; time for sincerity. Now people can stop asking when Shenmue 3 will come out. I will miss Dsh's fakeout posts, though. I won't be backing this, but I might buy it when it's released. I think I might play Shenmue this year since I'm on an RPG kick.

I know I just posted, but I had to say no to this. Why would you quote Shia when you can quote Arnie?

It was mentioned all the games-within-a-game that was Shenmue II. I'll admit I wish I had more time and money to play those new gambling dice games they had there. I had no idea that first warehouse district had so much to do.

Of course who could forget the duck races which I had to work my ass off to get.
Not so much an effort to get to the duck race proper, but to be able to obtain your own duck and control it yourself! It did open a lot more up in the story, and for that I appreciated the challenge.
I might look for that Versus guide, I have the one they put out for Pokemon Crystal (also a Perfect Guide) and it covered every single thing in that game.
