Game is fun.
The first game you get challenges for is a Galaga clone.

Yeah this game is definately awesome, all sorts of fun challanges and the presentation is just cool. I'll do a full review once I complete it or get a good chunk of it done.

I've been keeping my eye on it, and I might buy it some day soon.

Good review. I agree with it for the most part.

I just passed the 4th Guadia Quest challenge. Its quite amazing how this cheap little RPG can hold my interest. Its great how fast-paced it is - even though you do need to grind a bit.

The overall package is addictive. The only game I really didn't enjoy is the racing - top-down racing never was something I liked though.

Something else that really surprised me is I actually like the cheesy commentary of the 'young' Arino on the lower screen. I just about die laughing sometimes - I'll go sell a sword or something in Guadia Quest and Arino is like "WHOAAAAAA". HAHA. Or he will start snoring when you are grinding in the dungeon. It really does add something to the experience.

What you don't really mention in your review are the Gamefan magazine collections. As you complete challenges, Arino periodically buys new magazines. You can read these Nintendo-Power-ish mags, full of hints, cheats, and previews of new games (that you'll unlock eventually). The writing here is awesome. Such a perfect fit, so very like the mags I bought as a kid. I find myself looking forward to the next Gamefan almost as much as the games!

Anyway, I'd say this is a complete must-buy for anyone who grew up with a NES.

I did, but didn't go into much detail about them, but I totally agree with you. The magazine writing is awesome and reminds me of the younger days in my childhood waiting for my mail man to drop off the latest issue of Nintendo Power.

Have you got to the final challange yet?
