I also approve of and enjoy tank controls. You'd be surprised at just how precise they can become.

OMG! the tank controls are the reason i quit resident evil. i just couldn't get used to it.

it was so bad i actually bought the novelizations of the games so i could at least experience the story.

Resident Evil is one of the worst critically-acclaimed games of the 5th generation.

I get that the tank controls (I call them tractor controls, as I occasionally operate a tractor) "make sense" within the confines of the game. But the game is horrible, so I don't care.

Also, Resident Evil is not an "old game." What are you guys, 12?

There are times where I just don't understand you, chief.

And at this point, RE is legally old enough to vote.

In all seriousness, next year I'm considering creating a Summer Games Challenge list consisting of games I hated as a teenager but everyone else loved. Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Metal Gear Solid will make an appearance. Final Fantasy VII would as well, but I did in fact manage to finish that one somewhere along the way.

You made me remember that article that talked about a TF2 update "in case you are still interested in playing a 2.5 year old game"

I want to make a joke about you not liking scary games, but I won't. Instead, I look forward to next year, because I want to discuss these games with you and see if I can convey what it is I love about them while you play.

LOL. I'm in my thirties and I still consider RE an "old" game, which makes me realize how long I've been around. It's an eye opener when I talk to people who talk about their childhood PS1 games the way I do 8-bit Nintendo games and 16-bit games.

You know, I never had any issue with RE 1 tank controls, but I do wonder if I played them now if I'd tolerate them.

It's actually getting harder and harder to defend the original RE when this exists
