thanks guys... sounds like they could be harder or not depending on your prefrence and talents :) good enough.

I think the wepons system in MGS4 was added cause it's fun to play with alot of wepons, and have fairly easy access to them. so it's fun for more people to play.

that said in my first run I only used found wepons and never paid for laundering. only bought ammo.

I guess the 1st game isn't that hard. just seems like it after not playing for a week.

i didnt think 1 or 2 were very hard. they both had their moments though. I have not played 3 or 4 for more than a minute so i dont have a valid opinion on their difficulty.

^You tried the pen lid trick? Don't worry it won't damage your controller. This works a treat with all difficult button mashing sequences. BTW, pay attention to what Ocelot has to say in the scene, it's very interesting when conteualized with the later releases.

pen lid trick ? care to explain it ?

ok I've searched a bit...pen trick, rub across the button with pen cap. similar to a spoon trick.

I did read a guy post that he used a turbo pad while playing on a PS3 and it was working for him. so, if true, the old PS1 game doesn't detect current hardware.

I also read about an electric toothbrush trick, which I will have a go at. got a cheap o toothbrush ready for action !

on a side note...I've read that if I get the bad ending Otocon gives me the stealth camo at the end. if I get the good ending I get the bandanna for infinate ammo. is this true ?

seems like stealth camo is way more usefull

Yes you do and yes it is. Cept Meryl has to die to get the bad ending. Not such a loss, Cock teasing bitch!

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I believe MGS4 was the easiest of the series because it had useful (though still not perfect) controls. MGS1-3 were essentially 3D games with 2D gameplay. MGS4 made the switch to 3D gameplay good and proper, but whether it was due to lack of experience on the part of the developers, or perhaps the very core concepts of Metal Gear will always be 2D, it was very easy to fight through if you were used to FPS/TPS. Which was a bit of the shame, but perhaps that was a better alternative to screaming at the control pad for being asininely obtuse.

The easiest way to beat the torture scene is to plug a turbo pad into port 2. Works in the same way as the Psycho Mantis trick. Although neither bosses are tough to beat without cheating to be honest.

Personally I think it's better to submit on your first run through. It makes the game a hell of a lot easier when you replay. (and you will, I promise :P). The Bandanna is only really useful once you've completed the game twice and got the stealth, and even then it's only for having fun. It doesn't really matter which order you get them in.

Plus I personally think the bad ending is better. The good ending is just sappy and I just don't like it anywhere near as much.

Actually the bad ending is non-cannon, so I think it is better to get the good ending. And the link in my last post explains how to do the pen lid trick, you don't need to buy a turbo controller (can't Ocelot detect those anyways?), just a ped lid.
