Excellent choice! That is one of the few anime series that I have been able to thoroughly enjoy. There are some filler episodes, but the amount is negligible in comparison to some other popular anime. I am sure as the series moves forward and starts to catch up with the manga, we might see something, but I feel like the story arcs are more focused than other series like Naruto or Bleach to allow for it to happen.DeadPark wrote:I finally caved to peer pressure and started watching attack on titan. I'm only a few episodes in, but i can see why everyone is so crazy about it.

I'm not really a fan of Blade Runner. I KNOW it's a universally loved sci-fi classic with a unique and darkly beautiful-in-an-ugly-way vision of the future, but I'm not wild about it.Xeogred wrote:How is "too Blade Runner-y" a bad thing?![]()
o/\o I've done this myself and you definitely get some bragging points when you finish. My advice is to make sure you don't try to marathon the show and feel free to take breaks if you feel like you are burning out: don't set any time limit for this herculean task! But I think the original Dragon Ball is a completely solid series and easily the best of the bunch; Z mostly deals with anticipation that never fully pays off and nostalgia for the first show, GT is garbage that's only worth watching if you *really* want more.DeadPark wrote:Also on my to do list is Dragon Ball / Z / GT. i'm pretty sure i've seen every episode. but i've never actually seen it in order. so that's my goal after attack on titan.
Be aware that the Japanese and English audio DRASTICALLY changes the tone of the show. In Japan, the whole series (including Z) has a lightweight comedic vibe that the English version completely fails to capture. I think that the English audio tries too hard to be serious and that goes against the original nature of the show. But I know most folks prefer the English version, so I might just have weird taste.

We can agree on that note Nemoide! I vastly prefer DB/Z in Japanese. The music is way better and the Japanese VA's are just far superior. The biggest dramatic change to me is Goku's character. In the English dub he comes off as a pacifist who whines and hates to fight, but that is not Goku at all!!! Goku lives for battle and the challenge, always striving to be the best and is always up for a good fight. Originally he was one of my least favorite characters growing up, but when I finally watched it all in Japanese, he became one of my favorites.
It's a crazy different experience in Japanese audio. I can't go back to the dub now at all.
Also for any Legend of the Galactic Heroes fans, it's a bit humorous that Reinhard's VA is Vegeta.

Yeah, i found Dual audio, unedited versions for all 3 series, and i plan to watch it in japanese. After watching so many other animes in japanese, i actually have trouble following dub without subtitles. so might as well go with Japanese audio. Plus i spent a year in japan. listening to the original audio helps me from getting rusty, since i really have no other use for knowing how to speak japanese.Xeogred wrote:We can agree on that note Nemoide! Anyways, anyone caught up with JoJo? DIO'S WORLD!
It's felt like a Final Fantasy final boss fight crawling up to this point.

Well I might hold off on my Naruto Shippuuden binge a little longer apparently the last filler arc ended and then after 1 full episode of story progression... back to filler
. Seriously they need to just take a break and come back in a year or something

I've been watching Jormungand. It's about an arms dealer and her band of bodyguards going about third world countries trying to sell weapons and not get killed by assassins. It's been pretty entertaining thus far.
Some of the dialogue is hilarious, like:

PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?/Anime Recommendat

Just found a new show I really like Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru(Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?). It's very similar to Sword Art Online especially thanks to the fact that most of the same people are involved including the Kirito's voice actor returning as the main character Bell. It's set in a fantasy world that isn't connected to a video game but oddly enough still has a leveling system set around characters stats. Each adventurer is part of a "familia" which is lead by a mythological god who has divine powers but is forbidden to use them in the lower world. Another big difference is there is an emphasis on ecchi stuff and according to some people it sounds like it eventually turns into a harem anime

Just started up Arslan Senki and it's solid so far i'm on episode 9 out of the 10 released so far. Animation is top notch and the story is good albeit a little slow. The first episode was probably the worst in terms of pacing and excitement, but things start to pick up nicely with episode 2. Show focuses a lot on feudal combat and politics with the main cast comprising of basically master level tacticians and martial artist who are basically insanely OP as is the norm with shows like this
Also love the OP
