You can just tell right away when you're jumping across roof tops, it has a really smooth feeling to it. I was pretty tired last night, so I made no attempt at beating the boss (after dying the first time) but I can't wait to get into the game more.
Boss fights in that game take a long while. The 2nd boss is really tricky

What, like you have to memorize the fight so you can avoid attacks? I'm not a big fan of that, actually. I've yet to beat the last boss in DKC Tropical Freeze just because it was really looooong and you had to memorize it.

I wont let that keep me from playing Teslagrad, though.

Dude I just gotta say that I am still enjoying all of your new videos. I've even been going back and watching a lot of old ones over again! What can we expect next on the channel?!

Kind of. You only really have one opening to attack, otherwise you're dodging a sequence of attacks. But it's a really cool "a-HA!" moment when you finally figure out how to attack him.

Thanks! There's a couple "list" videos in the next couple weeks (games that deserve a 2nd chance, and ideas for a potential SNES Remix game), and X-Men for Genesis posts next week

So I played a little more of Teslagrad. I'm not too far past the first boss (the room with the really really tall tree). I usually don't like to make this sort of comparison, but this game reminds me of Another World (Out of this World). They're both action platformers. They both have cut scenes without words. And the both have that certain trial and error approach. In both games, you have "infinite lives" and instantly restart at the last checkpoint after death. Although, Teslagrad's check points are a lot more generous than Another World's (checkpoints are every time you enter a room, as far as I can tell).

SNESdrunk, I'm assuming you played the Steam version since it was one of your Steamdrunk reviews. The Wii U version is pretty cool. The Gamepad screen can display the map at all times. I'd imagine in the Steam or PSN version, you'd have to pause the game to get to the map. I have no idea what else is different, if anything.

Another World is a good comparison, though mercifully the controls are a lot more flexible in Teslagrad

Yeah I'm playing the Steam version, but damn that is a really cool bonus. And yeah the map is assigned a button, pauses the game
