Sega Saturn PAL C-Sync???

Post by KoroKoro »

Hi guys,

I think I am closer to working out why my Saturn wont work on my XRGB3. I have just got my model 1 mega drive working on c-sync and its absolutely gorgeous!

So after a little googling, I found that PAL consoles have 9v coming out of the c-sync pin on the AV out. This isn't a huge issue for me as I am using a 9 pin computer connector so I can make my own cables.

The only thing I cant find is where c-sync comes from. If some one could shoot me a link, much appreciated!

One thing I cant stand is the DC power supply. Its bloody dangerous! Just fried my S/PDIF mod chip... so very sad :(

Here's a schematic. IC21 seems to be what you're looking for. Probably a lot less hassle to just use a sync stripper, though. (Or get an NTSC model.)

Just swap jumper 16 and 17 on the bottom near the a/v out. That'll swap the +9v to c-sync.
