And? If the console market gets removed and replaced with pre-built steam machines and what have you, those that are targeted by such things are going to expect the same as when consoles dominated. To buy something and have it play without fiddling with settings they don't understand, and without having to update hardware any more often than a console generation. But, console and their gamer types are supposed to die, so whatever.

I feel like you're getting something very different out of what I'm trying to say.

FD, I really don't get this petulant drama. We are simply extrapolating on what looks like a trend. But, this being a retro games forum, regardless of whether consoles go away or not, nobody is going to break into your home and take away the ones you already have.

Tell that to Ray Bradbury.

Speak for yourself. I actually already habve plans to break into FD's apartment and take away his consoles. It will cost me a lot of money to travel to Texas - more than it would cost me to buy the consoles off him - but it will be worth it.

Come on noise, you pick the troll comment out of a pretty poorly done argument?

A trend that I only see people who actively do (and can) game on PCs being positive about. Everything I look at lately, its about consoles dying, and how its going to be great for everyone... but those who are exclusively console gamers. Nobody is going to take away what I have, but they will try and take the future of my hobby.

I genuinely don't know what you mean by this?

Are you saying that I was trolling? Cuz if so, I was not.

Are you saying that you were trolling? Cuz if so, you got me. Well played.

I'm saying that the specific comment you quoted out of what I said was essentially trolling.

If and when consoles go away, something will fill the role, and those things won't be DIY PCs. There will be some pre-built PC designed to play games. Or there will be a custom OS that runs on pre-configured hardware like Steam OS. There's no money in making gamers struggle for fun. The replacement for consoles will be console-like.
