I don't think I'm a hipster, but I haven't seen most of his films as I'm not a big film buff. So I have to go for Dune because it was pretty awesome and crazy weird.

That movie had Sting in it. I mean, it can't be bad by default.

Nah, the book is better. That's just how it is. A lot of movies just don't compare to their books.

Lynch's original cut of Dune was like 4+ hrs. He just didn't know how to do what he wanted to do in a single length film. The final cut is unfortunately a bit of a mess because of this.
