I hate walmart as well but I don't take chances with amiibo
When it comes to amiibo, Walmart has actually been my savior. With the exception of Villager (Target), Little Mac (Gamestop) and Pit (Amazon), I've gotten everything from Walmart.com or at the store with no hassle whatsoever. All of Wave 3, with the exception of the store exclusives, was easily obtained and shipped flawlessly, often with free shipping, even when I bought single characters like Toad. Pacman, Wario and the Splatton 3pk were in the mail as of yesterday. Charizard was the only one they had in-store this morning. Silver Mario is still in stock online as I type this.
With all the flack I give that place, they've been pretty good to me regarding these little figures.

I never shop at Wal-Mart but yeah, I make an exception with these as well. The reason? Like you mentioned: they give a crap when they pack them up for shipping unlike most other places.

Tanooki, the line cards worked like a charm at the Target I was at. We were all civil too. The store's policy was one of each amiibo, so it wasn't absolutely unfair. There was a guy that wanted Lucina and Robin, which were in shorter supply, but overall it was a positive experience. No dice on Ness though, Gamestop was all out.
I had to go out to get a few items at Target east of here. I got the last Pac-Man, so I'm happy. They had a full shelf of the single splatoon people, but the bundle was long gone as was Wario, Charizard and the others. Gamestop was next door so I peeked in out of curiosity, they had a lot of the silver marios, a few pac-mans, and again the single splatoons(no one wants them?) They said the others like their 4 charizards went as the doors opened. I joked with the girl I bet 75% of them end up on ebay and she laughed about it agreeing. I guess if you regular stores like that the workers would know the type of buyers coming in. I forgot there was a charizard, that was my first pokemon(charmander) so I'd consider getting that if I saw one lying around.
