I usually do a long game then 2-3 short games(8 hours or less). I kind of treat my collection like a game rental store once a month I go onto my RFgen list and scroll through picking about 10-15 games across usually 2-3 systems then I pull those out and rig up the systems I need. Then a month or so later I weed out what I no longer feel like playing and pick some more games.
Really I'm a cheap ass gamer so I just buy stuff as I find it usually and adhere pretty closely to the $20 or less rule. Anything I pay over $10 for I usually intend to play almost immediately.

Thanks. Yeah kinda weird that it is in off topic though. Maybe general gaming, or game finds would be better.fastbilly1 wrote:http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19555Soldier Blue wrote:So didn't we used to have a thread called "dedicated what is it worth thread"? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I typically hit a group of games or a genre really hard until I've finished off most of it, and then I move onto the next. I started with fighting games on my SNES when I first joined the website, and then went on to survival horror, FPS, and so on. I was focusing heavily on RPGs before this year's Summer Challenge, and I may well go back to that once I either finish the list or drop it.
My suggestion for dealing with a backlog? Don't get discouraged, do one game at a time, and focus on stuff you like, be it console, genre, developer, or a mixture of those. If you get a hankering for something else, finish the game you are on and then make the switch, unless you suddenly have no desire to keep playing what it is you are playing.
Example: As of 2008, I had probably beaten 5 out of 43 fighting games on the Super Nintendo. I hit that genre hard for a little while. As of right now, I've beaten 36 of those 43, and hopefully after this Summer Challenge is over, I'll have another one knocked off.

wow, Chip's Challenge 2 is out now. The game has been done for 20 years, but has been unreleased due to trademark issues.

I love Chip's Challenge. Even bought the Lynx version earlier this year.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
lol 486 processor minimum. I love that they pair that with a requirement for Windows 2k.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

I wish it was available as something other than Steam. I'd install it on my actual 486!
I loved Chip's Challenge back in the day. I haven't seriously played it in years, but it's definitely a classic.

Write to the developers and see if they could accommodate. I'd love to get in on that 486 action, too.Nemoide wrote:I wish it was available as something other than Steam. I'd install it on my actual 486!

Random thought #1 : I remember MDK had a good "buzz" when it was released but no one seems to remember it any more. Is it hated or forgotten?
Random thought #2: I am getting Wii2HDMI as I have component cables, any reason I should NOT do it?
