But I believe there are different character portraits used in Complete vs. Chronicles.

Chronicles does look extremely similar to Complete, what are the main differences? Is the combat the same?

Lighting up the Bone Signal...I expect a short dissertation on the differences between every version of Ys I & II (ending with a statement that you really should be playing the TGCD version).

The only real difference is the character artwork in the dialogue scenes was updated to fit modern anime standards more closely. That's it as far as I remember.
