Heh, we might need to start a "Stuff kids say" thread. I could put a ton in there! My youngest (2.5) has been saying "I love you ... Dad." With a really pronounced pause there for some reason. She says it so much I felt like it would lose some meaning, but nope, I get a little misty-eyed every time I hear it.

My three-year-old son has been on a roll recently. He has been giving me a fist bump while saying the word "boys" to show that we stand in solidarity against both his mother and six-year-old sister (both of whom he adores). He has also been bragging a lot about his "big, big muscles" as he strains to perform basic tasks like opening doors and picking up bowls. Finally - after watching a Star Wars clip the other day - he had to confirm that there were no Storm Troopes under our claw foot tub before using the bathroom.

Kids are great.

Today, I learned about sleep paralysis. It's good to know that those super creepy hallucinations I have about once a week are indeed hallucinations and, you know, not real.

 ...

I'm honestly a little too freaked to read the whole Wiki article.

Yeah Sleep Paralysis is a very real thing and is responsible for people's feelings of alien abductions and hauntings. Sorry folks, your ghosts and aliens are just sleep paralysis.

I have been victim of sleep paralysis 3 times in my life. The first was when I was a kid. I was in my room sleeping and woke up, unable to move, but could look out into the living room and saw 4 kids playing and laughing. My heart rate was incredibly high and I was freaking out.

The second happened about 2 years ago and I woke up to watch this enormous man/creature limping carrying an enormous axe. I screamed absolute murder when I was able to move, but it was the most frightening thing I have ever seen.

The third happened around the same time and it was me waking up to a man just watching me. Again, I screamed bloody murder.

Turns out I had sleep apnea and that enhances the possibility of sleep paralysis. Went to the doctor, did a sleep study, got a C-Pap machine and never had those problems again.

Especially when you're not laying in bed but instead wide awake walking around and see a ghost. Definitely sleep paralysis.

I hope you guys that got to see Mad Max enjoyed it. They only played it for a week on base here (which I didn't make it to due to work), and it doesn't release to Japanese theaters until June 20. And I don't even know if they'll play it in English with subs, or with a Japanese dub...

I really really liked the first two movies, so it's a little disappointing.

A week ago I thought I was awake and my idea of the most beautiful and perfect woman was in my bed with me sleeping silently. I woke up, and she was still there.

Aww.
