Super Mario RPG remains my favorite Zelda game
Yeah, that's not even a little bit the same. It's clearly a Chrono Trigger game.

Odd thing is it seems like all the people who hate on skyward, do so because they forget the world of Hyrule wasn't as fully developed as it had gotten by the other games. So yeah there's not going to be much to explore(if they had made more to explore it would be weird fields that would have tons of monsters and such in them, at least that's what the prologue leads to be believed..). I think the backtracking is just a minor detail(if only I wasn't constantly stuck on bosses in that game, the dungeons are easy enough just the bosses like every zelda game I've played i get stuck on weird things of the techniques  )

I've done major exploring in two Zelda games: The Minish Cap (those keystones hunting) and Wind Waker because of the way the world was designed. All others I went through the critical path mostly.

Yet Skyward Sword is probably one of the longest, yet still very linear, everytime you went back to an area you were going into new areas and the game was loaded with dungeons unlike a few others (MM only has 4).

Truth be told I have been playing the absolute best Zelda game on the PC since late 2011. It is a game that has over a hundred dungeons and twice as many quests. It has voice acting and useful magic. It's not linear either. I can't ask for more.

Can you expand on this a little more...?

I disagree (surprise, surprise). Once I finish Twilight Princess I'll do a little comparison between it and Skyward's quest progression.

I just hated the nothing fights in Skyward Sword. Those damn lumbering "imprisoned" soured the title to me.
