Either way, it demonstrates that Bluetooth can be used as a low-latency wireless connectivity protocol.Stark wrote:PS4 yes, XB1 no.marurun wrote:Don't the X-Box One and PS4 use Bluetooth as their wireless controller protocol?

The NES30 one is nice because it comes with a phone stand that clips on the back and it's nice and tiny.Tanooki wrote:Well I didn't know they had a pro NES one with sticks or a SNES one either, just the standard NES and FC30s.
Seems like a nice product, and unlike the moga, it's flat and easily slipped into a pocket.
The SNES30 is perfect for the Retron5 IMO and glad it works on pretty much everything. They have a small processor in them so they can have upgraded features in the future. I am urging 8bitdo to come out with a bluetooth adapter that could be plugged into an SNES port for the ultimate wireless solution for new and old.

Can anyone tell me if they've experienced the bent pin issue that's floating around? Or if Hyperkin has released a statement updating the hardware to prevent it?
I was saving up to buy one a few months ago but then started hearing about bent pin issues. I checked back on it recently and haven't seen anything regarding a resolution.

The Black Units had the issue corrected I don't think I have heard many issues since they came out. Got mine around a week ago and it seems fine pins are a little tight but just enough to grip the cart solid and they seem to be holding up okay.

I have some bent pins. I also have a launch model. It doesn't seem to effect performance at all, but it is annoying. One day I may "upgrade" to the present revised model.
Re: WELL THIS IS INTERESTING.. Retron 5
Bent pin issue was a small one with a vocal growl behind it and it was based upon the system from a year ago. They canned all those and re-did the hardware when they bumped the price up. The new systems shouldn't have that problem, the death grip issue, or any other complaints. The give away is they changed the box slightly, not easy to tell. On the system though if you pop the box open it has 2 tells. Push down on the barrier between the cart slots, if it doesn't bend and is solid, it's a safe unit. The other is that they put rubber caps over the controller ports to keep dust out.
Just find one that has been upgraded and it'll be fine.

Awesome thanks guys.
I'm definitely going to get one now. Plus being able to translation patch games. I've always preferred having physical copies.
EDIT: One last question I thought of, when you boot the console up, does it auto-load the game that's inserted? Or does it go to a menu?

It loads it(gets the name and if first time popped in it'll import saves) but not auto-load like you're talking about probably since it gives you the menus if only to add patches like most of us seem to do with it...
(though i wonder if it's safe to come off 2.0 beta 5 only stuck with it for the fast loading but almost pointless when patches are added in

In my experience, 2.0 BETA 6 is still the best version, I tried going to 2.2 but it broke compatibility with a few of my SNES games, so I went back to 2.0 for now.

I don't remember what I have on mine, but seeing that I don't use Sega stuff I've not bothered with the last update or two.
realistically I haven't used it at all in awhile, same with my PS4. I know, bad. Fact is the whole shift in the hobby ethics and market soured me to where I just dabble with my 3DS, laptop, and pinball along with old GB-GBA stuff instead.
