Ah, well I never felt like SS was trying to be cartoonish or realistic. It's design just seemed to be trying to be exactly what it was to me, which was representative of a style of painting. Methinks we just both perceive the art design differently.

Sounds like you're alone Betagam7, heh. I'll agree with others, all around it's probably my favorite style out of the 3D games. It's greatest issue? Not being in true HD. It's looking like the U game is going for a similar look so I'm stoked.

Also wow, didn't even occur to me... I guess Tingle is in neither TP or SS? No wonder I like them so much more than Wind Waker...

I am finally finishing these...

Skyward Sword: The worst Zelda game I've ever beaten, bar none. It features a barren overworld, wonky controls, bland dungeons, inane quests that serve no story purpose (Tadtones, for the most damning example), almost no plot until well after the three-quarter mark, poor character development, an otherwise interesting antagonist that doesn't show up until the last fifteen minutes of the game, and, lest I forget, the most painfully obnoxious sidekick in any game ever made.

My goodness... How on earth did this score 9's almost across the board? Did I get a different game than everyone else?? To use the universally accepted and cherished ten point scale, I would award the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword a solid 3 out of 10. It is an incredibly flawed entry in the series. I hope they've worked their collective hind-ends off to make the next game into something respectable.

Twilight Princess: I'm currently at the second dungeon. It isn't breaking any new ground for the series; in fact, it's just 'more of the same'. But I'm actually having fun. The beginning was a bit slow but things have sped up significantly and there have been some memorable moments thus far.

I have played through Twilight Princess a total of three times since release: twice in the GameCube and once in the Wii. The Wii controls were fine for me. The world flipping through had me confused for a few instances. Nothing overly jarring. As for Skyward Sword, I could not finish it. I just could not do it. I don't know if it was the slow start, the overbearing handholding, or other forces.

Yeah, I am going to mimic your sentiments. I really enjoyed Skyward Sword a LOT! Sure, there isn't much in the way of towns and villages like Ocharina of Time, but there was a lot to explore, see and do and I felt that the Motion controls were 100% perfect. I had zero problems playing it and found it incredibly refreshing for combat. I know other people have had issues, but I did not get any of that issue, the same with my wife who adored it as well, much more than Twilight Princess.

I wasn't that keen on Twilight Princess at all, honestly. I felt the muted palette was generic and found a lot of the gameplay aspects frustrating and redundant like the tear collecting. It just didn't capture my imagination as much as other in the series. It was a generic zelda game.

I adored every minute of Skyward Sword. It's easily in my top 3.
Twilight Princess was fine, but I actually felt like it was the most pointlessly padded game in the series myself. It's good, but my least favourite of the 3D style Zelda games.
