I live in Florida. Replace "horrible people" with "complete idiots" and I know thine pain.

Hey guys. Here's what happens when 11 inches of rain dumps in a short period.

San Marcos

Wimberly

Pretty crazy sight to see and I just hope everyone made it out safely.

Yeah, San Marcos got bombed with water. Driving around trying to drop my Dad off at work for a couple of minutes was a nightmare with the whole Walmart area being flooded, along with the river and all that. Had to skate through one bit of water, but it wasn't too bad.

Wimberly got it worse though, from all I can gather. There's a lot more building right on the river there, expensive stuff too.

I feel really bad for people with eczema on their entire body (or large portions)... I have a type of it on my ring finger, and when it's acting up my finger itches so bad that I swear to god I want to chop it right off. I can't imagine feeling like that over a large portion of your body, holy crap.

I get it on the backs of my hands during the winter. First year, the backs of my hands were just beat red. The worst it ever got was really really dry skin and it spread from the backs of my hands past my wrists a little and down my fingers a little. When I say dry skin, I mean dry to the point where it hurt and it was almost bleeding. It didn't itch, it just hurt. I went to the doctor and he diagnosed it as eczema. He gave me a prescription cream for it, which was more annoying to keep on the backs of my hands than the actual rash was. But yeah, I couldn't imagine having to deal with it over a large portion of your body. That's gotta be rough. I don't think I'd even wanna leave the house.

Luckily, last winter it wasn't so bad. The backs of my hands got a little chapped, I had to put some moisturizer on once or twice, but it wasn't too bad. I think the year I had it the worst was from a combination of things. My work environment was awful, I was in the cold all day. I was washing my hands very often, trying to keep them clean. I think the soap had a lot of alcohol in it. Also, they had those cheap brown paper towels to dry your hands with. The kind that feel more like sand paper. I think the totality of these things is what made it really bad.

Lotion is the worst. I hate leaving greasy prints on everything.

You are using the wrong lotion. It is one of the few things where spending more gets you more. I used to get horribly dry skin during the winter, enough so that I would bleed constantly. My wife introduced me to the good stuff and couldn't be happier!

In the case of the prescription stuff that I got, it wouldn't matter.

Being that I had to apply it to the backs of my hands, I found a clever way of doing it. I would dab some from the tube on the back of one hand. Then I would use the back of my other hand to rub it on the back of both hands. That way I wouldn't have any on my palms or fingers.

My daughter has been having these "revelations" that make her sound like a stoner.

Today she looked at me and said "Whoa....... Milk is cow water."
