It's a testament to how awesome the DS Lite is that even with millions and millions of them produced, it's now only a few years later rare and challenging to fine a brand new unit for a reasonable price. People bought these things like hotcakes. Hell I bought seven of them myself.

93 million DS Lites sold according to Wikipedia. Crazy.

I should be getting mine Saturday.

Read your post about the Crimson & Black DS Lite. Wasn't aware of that, but mine has a slight yellow tint. Everything else is just fine, though. Didn't buy it new, found it in a consignment shop for $20.

At one time I had over seven DS Lites laid out on a table. Loaded the same demo on all of them. Compared and contrasted the screen quality of all of them simultaneously. What I saw correlated to what other people on GameFAQs and NeoGAF were saying about their own various units. Based on all of that first hand and second experience, I came to the conclusions that I've typed earlier.

As far as the Crimson & Black DS Lite being of inferior quality, here is one of many threads I've seen with people attesting to its inferiority:

There's always a chance you got lucky with yours though.
