Game you most resent beating you

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Super Castlavania IV

Yes, this game honestly isn't all that difficult which is part of the problem. Castlavania IV eases you in nice and comfortably, presenting little challenge. It makes you think the game will be a moderate challenge and then later becomes cheap enough that it feels like utter betrayl.

Gotta agree with Ninja Gaiden. For the most part, once I got the hang of the controls I was fine in that game. Those birds are a pain in the ass, and there are some cheap kill attempts, but I managed.

The last level is evil.

Here's the problem. When you get to the last room before the boss room, there's a massive swarm of enemies that if you don't get the time freeze power up (which can be hard to get), there is NO way to avoid taking damage. Remember this now.

So you get to the first of 3 final bosses. First you fight your possessed father. Then the first form of Jacquio, then the final form. There's a cutscene at the beginning of each fight, which is good since the game is designed so you get full health at the end of every cutscene. If you die at any of the bosses your sent back to the BEGINNING of the stage, no matter how many lives you have.

Now, on the plus side, if you kill a boss, then die, and make it back to the boss room, you don't have to fight the boss you already fought. That's atleast some kind of concession. But there's a problem. The cutscene only plays once, so when you get back to the room you won't get the cutscene, which means your health won't be regenerated. Remember that last room before the boss room? Yeah, if you had trouble beating the boss with full health, now you have to do it with even less!
Basically, you'd better beat all of the bosses in one shot, or you're in trouble.

Ninja Gaiden has some great platforming, and has moments of brilliance, but it's just littered with bad design choices that make it a game you basically NEED save states to beat it. I've yet to see the end of Ninja Gaiden because I just can't beat it on the NES hardware... and I've beaten TMNT 1 on an actual NES.

Also, while it doesn't count as BEATING me, I'm annoyed at Grand Theft Auto III because I managed to get to the last mission, lost a few times, took some time off... and my data got deleted due to some BS glitch on some demo disc I had played. To be honest, after playing Vice City, which I enjoyed much more, I'm not sure if I'll ever play GTA III again.

Though for the record, "The Driver" mission in Vice City might be my least favorite level in any game ever. That one pissed me off to no end, especially since I enjoyed it so much otherwise.
I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

Most recent??? I would have to say Lumines Live.

They have the puzzles and missions to do... and some of them just blow me the hell away. It's about 3 or 4 of them of the 200 left that I just can't beat. Like delete some ridiculous amount of blocks in 120 seconds or some crap. Just can't do it.

I'll get there though...

Gunstar Heroes is so damn hard for me. I love the game to death but for some reason several levels own me to this day. Ikaruga too. Treasure is filled will evil bastards that thrive off our pain.

beating Street Fighter 2 CE on Sega back in the day no rounds lost on level 8 difficulty was really tough back then. I destroyed several 6-button pads that way.

You can duck in a Mega Man? What? :|

Oh, and Mario 64. That's right, Mario 64 has pissed me off far more than any other game I've recently played. And I got pretty pissed at The Ring: Terror's Realm. Of course I did find out later that my 64 controller is fubar to the point that I should probably just get a new one, but...I hate platformers.

and the latest game that did that to me is phantasy star online for the dreamcast.

but all you do is fight same enemies running around, and it gets frustrating when you have to play for an hour and a half or two with NO saving. I simply decided to quit on that game, if it is designed that way then it does not deserve to be played, and I really hope that who ever made this game did not make a cent out of it because he does not deserve it. I like the dreamcast a lot, and I do like sega, but whoever make such games should taste a burn in his career and business decisions to learn not to make such games
Honestly, one of the dumbest comments I've ever heard on this forum, maybe even the internet.

You don't think SEGA deserves any money for Phantasy Star Online? It was one of the first successful MMO type games with online. The community for that game is still alive today.

Also, the levels do not take two hours if you even have a inkling of what the frak you are doing. Congratulations.

Dude, Lanfear, what was that?

He had trouble with a game and then says why, and you insult him over it? Come on, there's no place for that. So he doesn't enjoy Phantasy Star Online, so what? It's no reason to badger the guy about it. Maybe it just wasn't his thing. Nobody's going to do well with every game they pick up, it's part of the reason for the topic. If he didn't like it, he didn't like it. That's no reason to insult him.

Civilization III. As much as I loved the first and second of the series, I always got my ass handed to me no matter what I did on that stupid game. :x It is now, fittingly, collecting dust near my broken desktop PC.

Also, is it just me, or are the insult posts becoming more and more common lately?
