If you enjoy the first game, you will definitely love its sequel. It takes everything the first game did and does it even better. You can probably get it very cheap online.

Hope your back heals up quick.

Thanks. Have had this back problem for years now. I was just being stupid when I was younger at work carrying dishwashers and stoves and dryers and heavy stuff at Lowes thinking I'm indestructible. Now it took its toll. I'm done with it. But as for the game goes I'm fortunate enough to have both games. I got them for free so its cool. I still feel I have way too many games. Maybe I should donate actually I think I am going to do that. I know I'll never play mafia or LA rush or the sports games.

Don't skip Mafia! It's not my sort of game either but seeing as I too got it for free I had to give it a go. I stated getting into it especially the story. I must pick it up again..

My last post from a year ago was dogging on the Xbox... now I'm changing my tune.

I just picked up:
Advent Rising
Black
Burnout 3 Takedown
MechAssault 2

For $35. Still seems really cheap to collect for the Xbox?
Do you have to use the remote controller for DVD's? Seems like it.

Can anyone tell me what the differences are with Silent Hill 2 Restless Dreams, and Fatal Frame 2 Directors Cut? I know Genma Onimusha has some additional content as well. I'll probably get all of these eventually.

I almost grabbed The Thing. Been meaning to check that and Cold Fear out, since they sound like good RE4 clones. Also been wanting to get Run Like Hell. Are the Obscure games good? The first game looks really pricey on the PS2, but not bad on the Xbox. If you guys have any good survival horror recs let me know haha.

I didn't know Arx Fatalis was on this. I might get that since it's been a headache getting to run on the PC for me. Same with KOTOR1, went out today looking for that but had no luck, so I'll probably just order it.

Is Pariah decent? Any other FPS's that might be worth checking out? I'll probably get Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect, I guess the first game didn't make it on the Xbox?

What I do own:
Darkwatch
Doom 3
Doom 3 Resurrection
Half-Life 2
Halo
Halo 2
Jade Empire
Deus Ex Invisible War
Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter
Medal of Honor Frontlines
MechAssault
Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance
Ninja Gaiden Black
Otogi
Otogi 2
Sega GT
Jet Set Radio
Serious Sam
Serious Sam 2
Soul Calibur 2

I tried that one on Xbox first, and I found the game to be frustratingly difficult. The Xbox version mucks up the balance of the game in aggravating ways. I moved over to the PS2 original and had a much better time with that.

As for the other two:

Restless dream contains this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Hi ... rom_a_Wish

FF2:DC has this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_Fra ... or.27s_Cut

Other things I can add...

>The Thing = I didn't enjoy this game much. Might be better if you're a fan of the film though.

>Cold Fear = I played this on PC back in 2006 and enjoyed it. Sure it's no RE4, but it's still a fair cut above most survival horror games of its era.

>Obscure games = The first game is rough around the edges and has very bad difficulty spikes. The second game is a lot better, and I finished it co-op and had a good time.

If you're looking for solid survival horror stuff on OG Xbox I recommend these:

Breakdown
The Suffering
The Suffering: Ties That Bind
The Fatal Frame games are great on Xbox but you already know that.

Fun fact: Breakdown was the first Xbox game I ever bought and played. It's a really cool concept and pretty fun, but it gets to be hard as balls towards the end. I never did finish it and I plan to go back and do so someday. Its survival horror elements are not that in your face, but they are there enough to count IMO.

>I didn't know Arx Fatalis was on this.

It's a shitty version. Go with the GOG version of that one trust me.

>Any other FPS's that might be worth checking out?

I recommend all of these on OG Xbox:

Black
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay
Far Cry Instincts
Far Cry Instincts Evolution
Project: Snowblind (it's best on PS2 though)
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Urban Chaos: Riot Response

Black is GOD TIER awesome. It's better than the PS2 version. Do not sleep on Black. Urban Chaos: Riot Response is by Rocksteady so you know it's good! Really cool game where you have to utilize a riot shield and a gun simultaneously leading to very tactical encounters. The Far Cry Instincts games are great, and they really show what the Xbox could do over the PS2 and GameCube graphically speaking. They play closer to Crysis once you start getting your mutant powers.

I can recommend a lot more Xbox stuff if you want. I own something like 250 games for the thing.

Also, I cannot recommend Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth highly enough. It is an incredibly tense, bracingly difficult experience that has held up incredibly well. It is also console-exclusive to the Xbox, and it conveys the atmosphere of one of my favorite H.P. Lovecraft stories perfectly. (It also compliments and enhances the story significantly, and if you decide to play the game, be sure to read The Shadow over Innsmouth first. Knowledge of the novella's setting will actually help you make your way through the game!)

My oXbox library currently sits at 49 games. I need to find that milestone 50th game. Xyanide is on my list, but also starting to want to back-collect Star Wars games and would exclusively go with the oXbox there (Republic Commando maybe?).

It's a very challenging squad based FPS, I enjoyed it (on PC actually, but Xbox should be fine). The best Xbox SW game I did play on the actual console was Star Wars: Battlefront II.

Wow, Battlegrounds 2 is going for a lot online, but I'm pretty sure I just saw it at the Vintage Stock I hit up for like $5-15, somewhere in that range. Is this game fun solo? It always sounded like online was why they were so popular.

Also saw Republic Commando I think for $17.99 or something. Was tempted on that one.

I was on the lookout for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, but didn't see anything. Looks like it goes for a lot online. Might consider this on PC if I really want it, since it looks awesome.

That's weird to hear about Onimusha. Well, I'm curious anyways haha. Though I'll admit, the first game is pretty rough anyways and I'm not sure I'd really care to revisit it, but I have a soft spot for 2-3.

Maybe I'll just get Obscure 2 sometime then and go backwards if I enjoy it.

Riddick I rented back in the day and loved it, I've got Dark Athena on the 360 which includes a remade version of Butcher Bay too (a lot of people didn't really know it was a double package basically). Great stuff.

I have to say I'm cautious on Far Cry there... I think Predator on the 360 is garbage and I'm not a huge fan of the first game. Is Instincts different and better than those? Crysis is solid but the aliens ruin it for me, kind of like Far Cry 1 and the mutants. But there are definitely things I dig about Far Cry 1 and Crysis 1. I love Far Cry 2 and the later games are solid, but they're really different, I'm guessing Instincts is a bit more linear.

I remember when Project: Snowblind was touted as some kind of game set in the Deus Ex world, it's left me sour to say the least. The PC version is insanely bad, but maybe I'll give it another shot sometime on a console. There was no optimization or work put into the PC port whatsoever so it was a broken mess.

i'll admit I haven't turned on my OXBOX in quite some time. But there was point where It was the only system I devoted time to thanks to a few key titles. Bought it dirt cheap from a co-worker who was saving up for a 360 as it had launched on that very day. I still have the system and my entire library. For what it's worth, I was a pretty good system imo. Off the top of my head my library for the system looks like:

Fight Night: Round 2
Def Jam: Fight for NY*
Burnout Revenge*
Outrun 2
Outrun 2006: C2C*
Panzer Dragoon Orta
House of the Dead III*
Shenmue II
Iron Phoenix
Taito Vol.1
Tecmo Arcade Classics
Ninja Gaiden Black
DoA3
DoA Ultimate*
XGRA*
Xyanide
Fatal Frame II
Silent Hill 2
GGX2#Reload*
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sub.
Kung Fu Chaos
Soul Calibur 2*
Metal Slug 3
Metal Slug 4-5
SvC Chaos*
KoF 02-03*
KoF Neowave*
KoF MI: Maniax
Samurai Shodown V
Doom 3
Chronicles of Riddick
Artic Thunder
Midway Arcade Vol.2*
Midway Arcade Vol.3*
MKV: DA
MK Deception*
MK Arm.
The Next Tetris*
CCC Vol.1*
CCC Vol.2
Street Fighter Anniversary Col.*
Capcom Fighting Evolution
CvS2:EO
Guilty Gear Isuka (import)

I have a few other dozen titles perhaps, but these are the ones I remember playing The most. Anything with a star are games u've devoted the most time to.

Are there any exclusive anthology / collection releases for the Xbox? I'm always going to go with PS2 in those cases, but not sure if there's unique ones to the system.
