i got a dreamcast ascii ft pad today (YAY!!) and when i first plugged it in it didn't work. after opening it up, and trying it again it worked, mostly. now the down button doesn't seem to work unless i press it at some kind of angle. so, crouching in capcom fighters is a pain, and it's a lot harder to do special moves.
anyone have some suggestions? maybe i can clean the board inside the controller? ideas?
dc controller button not working, need help

i never quite figured out why it's doing that, but i think i solved it. at first i tried putting some sticky tack betwen the cross pieces that snap together to readjust the leverage and it worked great... for 5 minutes.
so i decided to add some tack between the inside plastic cross and the rubber pad that touches the board itself. this seemed to work a little better and i have yet to notice it messing up again. i also tried bending the plastic (after hovering over high heat) to try and fix the leverage again. i have not "tested extensively" but it seems to be working fine. oh, and initially i tried rotating the d-pad cross itself (inside and outside, first you have to snap them apart) but that didn't help at all. man, i really got tired of opening and closing this thing over and over!
oh, and this is one of those nice ascii fighter pads, and not one of those cheapo knockoffs. i'm honestly disappointed in the quality, but hopefully my modifications will make it all better
