I bought some more packs, still have 700G. Is it worth buying more of the solo play stuff? Do you earn more cards from them?

The arena, at least for now, is a better buy (depending what your buy in is). For 150 (my current cost) I usually get a pack plus a pile of gold, plus earn cards during the matches. A much better buy than just buying packs.

The arena isn't better IMO because they only award 'Goblins vs Gnomes' packs as of this writing, which are more suited to *specific* types of decks; otherwise I would agree.

There are many 'must-haves' that are only in the Classic packs, which can only be bought with gold manually ATM other than the "Spectate a friend" daily quest.

In regards to the solo adventures, there are five "wings" per solo adventure that are 700 gold each that award 6 unique cards individually after completing them. So that's 30 unique cards after grinding 3,500 gold.
If you go this route I suggest going with Naxxramus first over Blackwing Mountain (because there are more staple cards in Naxx).

If you're just starting out I'd suggest getting a bunch of Classic packs, as no matter what you'll open a slew of new (essential) cards.

Make sure to grind your characters levels to 10+ to unlock the basic cards too!

most of my characters are around level 13-15.

I've only gone in the Arena a couple of times, mostly because it's a commitment to jump in. I tend to play Hearthstone casually most nights. Meaning I might play a round, check stuff online, play a round, go take care of a chore, play a round, etc. So while I might be in the game most of the night, I'm probably playing in 15 min bursts.

At any rate, for now it sounds like my better bet is to just keep on buying packs w/ my gold. I've been buying them at a 3:1 ratio of Classic and G&G cards just to mix it up.

I got some time to hop on Saturday morning, and got my ass handed to me for a couple dozen games then had a streak of three wins. Conclusion, I am terrible at Paladin but good at Mage.

I think we should talk about what my Priest did to noise last night.

Match was over...QUICK.

Threw out my Gurabashi; knowing Brad plays aggressively, and rather than break his health down (and increasing his attack) - I knew brad would attack my Hero.

Next turn...2 pt. card - double a minions health. Now at 14. 2pt card double a minions health. Now at 28. 1pt card - set a minions attack to match their health.

Gurabashi was at 28/28 and we were only at turn 6.

That double health card (Divine Blessing or something?) is so good, love just throwing PW: Shield and that on something with a Cleric in play, so much hand advantage. I am definitely enjoying Priest, still not sure what I want to dump Dust into for a "real" deck though.

This game is insanely addicting. My toilet time has doubled.

yeah I was gonna post about it. Mike's improving so rapidly. Thing is (as he noted) I do play rather aggressively, and I'm also very reactive - meaning I have an overall strategy, but it shifts from move to move based on what's being thrown down. Which is probably how most 'beginners' play really. But Mike's def moved on to really working on combos and actually building up the hand to utilize them. It's impressive stuff when he pulls it off. (Though when he doesn't pull it off I still thrash him  )
