What are you eating?

I say two cans of beans, three teaspoons of homemade chili powder, and three chipotles.

Dirt cheap, incredibly delicious. And with all recipes that don't require baking, you always have some wiggle room. Use green bell peppers instead of red and orange if you're on a budget. Throw in some jalapenos. Add some extra adobo sauce. Serve it on top of rice. It's your world.
Are you a cheese or no cheese kind of chili guy?

Depends on the type of chili and type of cheese. I think usually cheese covers up the taste of the chili, but a little cheddar or havarti doesn't hurt.

My favorite toppings are raw sliced onions, sliced jalapenos, and chili powder. Cheese is awesome, but sometimes gets in the way of the taste of the chili. Same thing with burgers; if it is meant to be served with cheese, cool. If not, leave the cheese.

Speaking of eating, I picked a few quarts of strawberries today. I also stopped a kid from eating pig poop, but that's another story. But! I'm thinking English muffins, with a cream cheese frosting topped with strawberries for breakfast tomorrow. That should earn some brownie points.

Some lessons just weren't meant to be learned "the hard way". I think eating pig poop qualifies.

I'd argue that someone who doesn't realize it's bad to eat feces should be allowed to be culled by nature.

Maybe in some cases you would have a point. There are always exceptions.

Eating feces can be great for digestive health...although it is mostly applicable only to the same species when talking about omnivores.

Is it common practice to feed livestock feces? I imagine the average human actually consumes a little more of it than they might realize. Even if you exercise very tedious hygiene practices, odds are you've ingested some crap.

Grocery carts for instance are very likely to be covered in it. Not just the handles which people sometimes wipe down.

It's a nasty thought, but hardly anyone is vigilant enough to avoid it completely. Especially if you eat food prepared by other people.

I took some "mentally challenged" kids to a petting zoo. I went in expecting something like that would happen.

And could we drop the eating poop discussion?

I've got some soft shell crabs and have no clue what I'm going to do with them. I better think of something soon though as they're a day old.

Sure, but why does it bother you? It isn't really in poor taste, just a little tangential. I wasn't making jokes, it is something that's been well researched.

Anyway, it's not a particularly important topic to me, so I'm happy to oblige.

Just saying it's an unappetizing subject for a thread dedicated to yummy.

Speaking of unappetizing, to clean a soft shell crab you first cut off the face, then rip off the gills, and tear off the penis.
