Trigun's nowhere near as great...but still highly entertaining and certainly worth one's time.
Exactly. That's what makes Bebop a fantastic series. I've literally told everyone I know about it, if they've never heard of it. It's worth every penny, if one chooses to buy it. :)
Exhuminator wrote: It's easy to think that when you've only gone that far in. I was right there with you at that point. Unfortunately the first season does not resolve anything about what the Titans are, or where they are coming, or what ultimately is going to be done about them. I felt like the last half of the season just stretched things on pointlessly intentionally not resolving anything so a sequel would be plausible.

If you've never seen Black Lagoon, I strongly recommend it to you:

http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/black ... nd-barrage
http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/black ... lood-trail

Both seasons and the OVAs I linked to are fantastic.
I think someone had told me that nothing really gets resolved in the first season, which does suck. However, since Season 2 is coming out next year, I'm OK with it; as long as loose-ends are tied.

Black Lagoon is another Anime I've considered; saw it in the recommended shows section on Hulu, during my viewing of FLCL. Might give it a go someday.

I just watched the first episode of Mad Bull 34. It's the most insane anime I've ever seen in my life. I kind of love it.

Season two of Attack on Titan should be pretty epic I read the manga up through the next section and it's starts to get really interesting alot more action going on and a boat load more Titans. That being said if they stick to the manga as closely as they did with season 1 it will probably go on for another couple of seasons because unless they really compressed the story down the next section has a ton of battles/action sequences that will easily take a full season to cover. I only read the manga that was released up to around the end of the final episode of the first season of the anime and I could easily see a nice ending point for season 2 as there was a part in the manga where things kind of lull as what will probably be the event that takes up the majority of season 2 ends and a new situation arises.

I think this season Shokugeki no Soma is definitely going to take the prize as my favorite anime this time around. Even though it does get really pervy at times the show just has a ton of passion and energy. Never thought I would be this into a cooking anime, but this is just so awesome  .

God I love Discotek. What company in 2015 is going to reissue robot carnival, madbull, or violence jack? I just picked up the Madoka Magica Rebellion blu ray. I've heard mixed things about it, but I really love the show. I plan on watching it tonight so I'll see where it goes.

Just....wow. I've never felt this way about a series before.
I have been wanting to buy the Japanese Laser Disc version when it first came out. Too expensive back then and forgotten about the series over the years. I remember seeing your post of the newest DVD set in the "Bought Thread" which renewed my interest. Checked out the DVD from the Library, watched all of Disc One sessions. Such a great series! Cannot renew my checkout, the DVDs already set in reserve que for the next Library patron.

Just placed an order online for Cowboy Bebop Complete Collection 2014 DVD advertised "As New with Slip Cover" from a star seller for $23.99 shipped. I have not been this hooked on a Japanese Anima series since Robotech! I own the Laser Disc version of that series; the beautiful Macross movie which is very well done. The Cowboy Bepop series has great animation and Syd Mead type of worlds as in the movie Blade Runner. This is a must own (why did this take me so long) for anyone who likes animation.

The Laserdisc set still very pricey even today, glad I waited for the latest DVD to come out.

My current "main" show that I've been watching every day is Ghost Stories. A friend lent me the discs because he thinks it's one of the funniest shows ever. Not gonna lie, I'm not wild about it. The dub's humor annoys me so now I'm watching the comparatively humorless Japanese/subtitled version which is TOO BLAND. But man, that dub... I don't find characters being gay, Jewish, or born-again Christian to be inherently funny and that's all it seems to be. The "jokes" aren't really JOKES.

I have a lot in my backlog so I'm watching two episodes of anime a day; after Ghost Stories I alternate between Hikaru no Go, Devilman, and Ultraman. (Ultraman isn't anime, but it's ridiculous old nerd-stuff from Japan so it's related IMO.)

Aw yeah, laserdisc! Everything is better on a laserdisc!

I really wouldn't put them on the same level. Cowboy Bebop is a universally beloved classic, but all the Trigun fans I know only like half the show. The tone changes so wildly that it's pretty rare for someone to like the whole thing from beginning to end. Cowboy Bebop is an anime I would recommend to anyone. Trigun not so much. I'd still say I like Trigun, but it's not a strong love like for Bebop.

Oh, I 100% agree that Cowboy Bebop > Trigun :D

I love Cowboy Bebop. I bought the individual DVDs sometime around 2004~ish. The tops of the DVDs are decorated to look like Vinyl albums. That really keeps in line with the musical aspect of the series.

I want to upgrade to the Cowboy Bebop Dolby 5.1 Remix sometime in the future.

Well, the reason the dub is like that, is because the Japanese version did so bad in Japan, that the original creators gave it to ADV, and told them to not translate the original script, and do whatever they have to do to get it to sell.

To make a long story short; they kept the plot elements, but threw the script out, and had the actors ad-lib everything.
