Well this really sucks. No wonder Kojima left the company. :? Thank god for Kickstarters by the original creators of the games we know and love...

Yeah, read this earlier. It sounds like they're basically tapping out in regards to traditional gaming. It makes Igarashi's Kickstarter that much more appealing.

Eh, oh well. Mobile gaming does seem to be the way video games are going. It's a booming industry.

That said, I'm not really into it, nor do I have any desire to be. I've been sitting this console generation out, and I guess PC digital distribution networks are just how I'm going to be gaming from now on.

Are you referring to Xbox One / PS4 / Wii U?

Yeah. I don't own any of them, and I haven't seen a real reason to get one when the games that I want are on Steam or GOG.

Some people love the Wii U but apparently not enough. I don't know about that one but the other two......I don't think you're missing anything. I'm lucky I'm one of the few people that loves Titanfall otherwise I'd have 15-20 hours of Dead Rising logged on my XBone and not much else, and it's been out for a year and a half! I do admit though that if I wasn't into retro stuff I would've bought Far Cry and Witcher. The only game I yearn for on the PS4 that I can't get on the XBone is Guilty Gear, and I'm still alive with a ton of games to play so other than that I'm less than pleased with my $500 entry into this gen.

Well the PS4 and Xbox One... chances are the majority of games that come out for those will also come out on PC as well. So no big loss there. The Wii U for my purposes is only tantalizing for local multiplayer, I'll pick one up one day for that aspect. I'm in no big hurry though. The 3DS is a solid handheld, but it hasn't yet reached the apex of awesome that the DS accomplished insofar as overall library is concerned. I doubt it will at this point. The 3DS is worth having, but isn't crucial. The Vita however, is absolutely awesome. You're missing out in that regard.

Wii U, 3DS, and Vita essentially define the "8th gen" for me. The other home consoles feel like gimped PCs and have very few games that pique my interest. I'd honestly rather get an obscure retro console like a CD-I, Arcadia 2001, or SG-1000 than an Xbone or PS4. My mind could change down the road though; the Xbox 360 didn't interest me until years after its initial launch.

As for the topic of this thread, yeah, meh. I think the last Konami game I played was that XBLA version of Symphony of the Night.
