Even better, it feels like a Starship Troopers: "We have this idea for a film, lets grab a property and just tag it on"

In other thoughts, the international trailer for the new Jem movie is out. And instead of being glamrock with holograms, crazy love triangles, and a rival group that is insane, it is a coming of age film about friendship and youtube. Updated for the time? Maybe. My wife and all her oldschool Jem friends (including Samantha Newark [voice actress for Jem] and Christy Marx [creator of the show]) are obviously upset, especially since Ryan Landels (movie writer) and John Chu (movie director) said to the fans they would make it as authentic as possible. But like the Get Smart Movie, they did not even consult with the creator.

My wife went from "we will see it in the theater" to "I dont ever want to see it" in 2 minutes. My thought is that it might be Truly Outrageously Terrible...
Even Shatner was not impressed by the trailer.

Let's not fool ourselves as we all know Barbie and the Rockers was where it was really at.

I have yet to find a better hose attachment than the dirt cheap "triangle nozzle". I've paid well over ten bucks for a hose attachment and they're just no good. Nozzles need only one setting " Stupid crazy pressure. It truly is the psycho hose beast.

Pretty much this. It feels like they had an extremely generic idea for a film about teenage girls getting famous and turning on each other before finding the meaning of true friendship or whatever and said, "how can we use this to cash in on the 80's nostalgia boom?"

Or they just picked Jem off a list of 80's cartoons, watched an episode and didn't know what the fuck to do with it.

For a prime spot in the lineup? Yeah, that's not enough. American Idol will lose it's cultural cache if it just fades out, continually losing viewers. Better to end it while there's still enough eyes on the TV to make people notice it as it leaves. That way there's a chance they can try and revive it down the road.

well, how many viewers are enough in the prime spot? 9m is like 3% of all Americans already.
