There are probably as many "good" games as there are "bad" games, but with the exception of the Star Wars and Tron arcade games, I cannot think of any true classics that are based on movies.

Lion King (SNES/Genesis)
Aladdin (one for SNES, another for Genesis)
Jurassic Park (Genesis)
Little Nemo: The Dream Master (NES, based off Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland)
Willow (NES)
Krull (2600)
Goonies (NES)

I'm sure more can be thought of.

Just a few on the SNES...

Batman Returns
The Addams Family
The Addams Family Values
Hook
Alien3
Jurassic Park
Pinocchio
Mighty Morphing Power Rangers: The Movie
RoboCop 3
The Hunt for Red October
Stargate
T2: The Arcade Game
The Terminator
Terminator 2
RoboCop vs. Terminator
Warlock

Sure, not all of these are classic, but they are definitely playable. There are stinkers, of course; Bebe's Kids, The Lawnmower Man, Toys, The Rocketeer, etc. But there are plenty that are quite better than you think.

Here are a few more:

Bebe's Kids (SNES)
Charlie's Angels (PS2)
Cliffhanger (NES)
E.T. (2600)
Fight Club (XBOX)
Jaws (NES)
Home Alone 2 (SNES)
Hudson Hawk (NES)
Lethal Weapon (NES/SNES)
Predator (NES)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (2600)
Rambo (PS3)
Space Jame (PS1)
Street Fighter: The Movie (PS1)
Total Recall (NES)
Tomorrow Never Dies (PS1)
Toys (SNES)

I could certainly keep going...but my point was that games based on movies are just as likely to be "terrible" as they are to be "good". Certainly, there are many "good" video games based on movies - you listed many of them above - but many of the very worst games of all time are also based on movies.

IMO, there are very few truly classic games based on films. They are:

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (XBOX);
GoldenEye 007 (N64); and
Star Wars (ARCADE);
Tron (ARCADE).

That's really about it...and these four classics are not enough to off set the fact that so many games based on movies rank among the worst of all time. Accordingly - and as a general rule - games based on movies are grouped towards the lower end of the bell curve with regard to quality.

What I always found interesting were games that used popular film actors as the leads and weren't directly connected to any movie series. Only a few pop up in my mind though. I'm sure there are some FMV games like that, but most of those were before my time :P.

Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run(PS2/PC/Xbox)- Dwayne Johnson(think there was a movie but it got scrapped)
Wheelman(PS3/360/PC)- Vin Diesel

The Wing Commander series is the most obvious FMV example. Loads of Hollywood talent in those games, some famous and others soon to be.

It's hilarious how a PAL version of super mario bros plays on a NTSC console. I love it!

Yeah, but my phone's auto-correct wasn't cool in the '90s.
