Wait till you play online. Games take a different dynamic when the other player makes random choices. The AI is more keen on clearing the battlefield than the other player.
right. Single player in this game feels more like practice.

Also, I meant Warrior earlier, not Hunter.

Sent out three friend requests to Racketboy members from this thread.

Don't ever plan on spending money on this but it is tons of fun. As a rabid MTG player I'm very much enjoying this.

So moving from the unlocking of the 9 characters to playing the AI on expert level...was a major jump in difficulty. I'm 2-3 against the AI on expert.

Agreed. I'm 5-2 but am playing with custom decks.

I downloaded Hearthstone last week on the iPad and so far have three decks to level 10+.

The AI often doesn't detect if it has lethal (enough damage on board to win) OR if it will die if they leave my minions alive... kind of nonsensical in that sense.

We did our first arena run; 3-3. Considering we don't have nearly any of the awesome cards our opponents currently do; I feel pretty good about it.

There are some cards that feel incredibly undervalued. Granted, anyone can get access to them and build them into their decks, but until you personally have them, it's tough to compete sometimes.

This guy last night had a "secret" and the secret was - when I attack his hero it does damage to every minion and my hero. So I did -1 damage to his hero and instantly, boom! I had 6 minions lost (mostly taunt totems) and damage to my hero.

More frustrating than that - this character comes out w/ 4 attack and 7 health iirc. Each time you attack him his health goes down, but his attack goes up by 3. So I damage him -3, twice, so he's down to 1 health, but now has 10 attack. Then, he plays a +4/+4 card, bam. This dude now has 14 attack and 5 health. I had nothing to play w/-5 damage, so used a -4 on his hero, then he ended me with a -14 attack. Brutal.

Sounds fun Mike! I haven't tried Arena yet, I've been trying to unlock every basic deck.

It is addicting. We (older 3 kids and I) planned to play 2 matches before they went to bed...we just wanted to get a bit of gold and buy a "pack of cards".

An hour later we'd played 6 arena matches, 2 online matches, and 2 matches against the expert AI.

Mike found the Gurubashi Berserkers. It is common for a Mage player to use fireball on them if they have a taunt wall up. I have gotten one hit twice, while clearing out the taunts on the other side, then gave him windfury and koed the other player. The only reason I knew to do it, was it was done to me one day before.
