Check out Warsong if you haven't. I swear to god a month ago that game was 'worth' half of what it is now, for no discernible reason as usual.Gunstar Green wrote:Because the Internet.GSZX1337 wrote:Why, why, why, WHY?!
Random thought: When did Mega Turrican get so expensive?! I guess I was right in predicting the Genesis would be the next console to experience price spikes.

I still don't own Warsong. Shucks. Hilariously enough, you can still get Der Langrisser for like $5.

Don't think there will ever be a party video game as a physical one. I have played the You Don't Know Jack games hundreds of times with friends, but we always have more fun with a deck of cards, a board game, or catchphrase.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I sparked an interesting debate in a forum over the proper way to say "female bard" in Spanish. There's no recorded use, since historically all bards were male, so I finally settled on mimicking my usage of similar terms.

Wish I hadn't sat down to play twinkle star sprites at my local retro store. I cut myself off at $1 but dang that's fun. Made it to stage 3 of the story before I game overed completely....why does this not have a English release officially?

The Charlotte Hornets may be the best team in NBA JAM history. Alonzo and Grandma-ma...Basically unstoppable.

Cliffhanger for Genesis/SNES is actually not that far from being a good game. If you put a Streets of Rage coat of paint on it people would say it was weak but only a few tweaks from being really good. Well ok, the Avalanche that chases you after stage 1 is ridiculous and maybe impossible but the beat em up parts seem almost there.
EDIT: ok so after I tried Cliffhanger I pressed my luck on movie licensed games and popped in Last Action Hero. Oh my god. How has no one destroyed this game on YouTube yet? Honestly I'm fucking appalled. Now keep in mind I haven't seen the movie, but put it this way: I doubt it involves someone who doesn't look like Arnold Scwarzenegger doing nothing but performing delayed punches and kicks, as well as a windmill motion with his arms every time he jumps. This game is an abomination.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
When it comes to fantasy based games, and the creatures/monsters/races they use, I'm always curious as to where they get inspiration or pull creatures from. I personally have a big thing for mythological creatures, so it always catches my attention. For example, some creatures in the Witcher series are quite obviously based in Slavic mythology. However, many they use aren't based in Slavic mythology, such as trolls. There are creatures similar to trolls in that mythology, but in many ways don't agree with what is shown in the games or described in the books.
Medieval mythology is often pulled from, but the majority of basis seems to be pulled from Tolkien and other later writers who were inspired by previous stories. I think its odd that developers and writers stick to the simple, basic fantasy tropes rather than pulling from stuff few people know about.
And elves aren't good people, they live in the dark, turn to stone in light, and hate people.
