People who aren't paying attention to the game are always the ones that "get it".

I was at a Columbus Clippers (Yankee's farm team) game where a young kid had at least a few ribs crushed by a foul ball. Kid left on a stretcher and as the crowd went silent, my Father gave the great reply of "Ah. He'll probably end up getting season tickets for free".

My Cubbies stink. But in positive news, Historic Grainger Stadium may see a new team by the end of this year. Really hope this goes through as although I do have access to a great college baseball team, I hate college baseball.

I have to ask, is anybody really a fan of college baseball? I've never known anyone who was into it.

You have to ask?

College baseball and softball is pretty much a big thing where I live.

Went to school with Madison Bumgarner (sp?) but there was never much hype about him during my high school years. But "round these parts" college baseball is a big deal. I'd rather hear the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard over an aluminum bat, but it draws a big crowd.

Mostly very drunk and stoned college students, but we tend to sell out every game.

And whatever happened to Jenny Finch? Wasn't she a Maxim cover model at some point?

That is pretty much the exact opposite experience here and in Alabama. Football was so big that it basically eclipsed all other sports. I don't know of anybody at either of the universities I attended that would bother with college baseball. Basketball...maybe, but only a couple of games.

Sports in general rule popular opinion, and both inside ant outside activities here. College towns revolve around sports. If no one is playing football, then people gravitate towards baseball. It's booster stuff to "fund education" through "student athletes".

I'm in on the bandwagon too.
