The demos all run fine in DOS Box! The Screenshots I have been capturing on the previous page and below are windowed, they can all be played in full screen. There are many killer DOS games to rediscover!

A DOS hard drive (hope everyone kept theirs) is easy to transfer to CDR discs or direct to new PC. Simply place the IDE drive in an external USB enclosure. Transfer directly to DOS BOX virtual drive directory created in the new PC. A natural choice would be C:\DOS easy to spot for transferring files between the two operating systems.

I agree about DOSBox compatibility. With latest version at least it's run everything I've personally thrown at it, and perfectly well too. I'm sure there's some obscure stuff that doesn't work, but for at least 90% of cases DOSBox is an ideal solution.

More awesome DOS games (for warm fuzzy nostalgia's sake):

yeah I've seen that. I meant, "I wish there was a mass-produced USB 5.25" floppy drive."
If I recall correctly I think I might have one, don't know the brand but it's definitely that. Got it when someone gave me their old 95 laptop(which is a piece of junk because it needs a new screen but i have no clue where i put the thing...)

Anyone remember the freeware game Cyberdogs, or its sequel C-Dogs?

dabbled w/ more DOS games last night - all of them part of the 3D Realms Anthology... I had never messed w/ Rise Of The Triad or Shadow Warrior. Talk about some over-the-top craziness!

I can't recommend enough Terminal Velocity out of that package. I put a lot of hours on that one back when it came out. Rise of the Triad is nuts, crazy stuff including some of the threats like the classic 'I'll bury you in a lunchbox!' before the boss unloads on you. Shame that package isn't up on GoG.

Terminal Velocity is one of the ones I haven't gotten to yet.

You can get the bundle straight from 3D Realms' website, so I assume that's DRM free since it concerns you as much as it does. Though the Steam version has several more games in it.
