Agreed. I am much more in agreement with the old-school types. I do see the new-school feminists as ultimately serving puritanical interest.

It gets so muddy at a certain point in feminism, because this point, like certain others, can be very different within the feminist community. You mention "old school types" being more sex positive. However, the sex negative group has been around for longer, although they didn't start getting that big a voice until the last 20 years or so.

Its kinda like the girl who went around only wearing pasties and panties on the Texas State campus. She was fighting objectification of women. By being nearly naked in a very public place. Full of frat boys. She has a point, but the way she went about it confuses me.

Yes. They are free to do it, and we are free to criticize it.

The amusing thing about women flaunting sexuality is that they themselves are split down the middle as to whether it's empowering, or objectification. Just depends who you talk to.

As I said I'm pretty liberal, but this was just so distasteful for me. I'm the kind of person who supports people should be free to do whatever they want with their bodies as long as it pleases them. They can have sex in public, be gay, bi, asexual, have orgies, whatever. But when it's used to make a profit it gives me a bad taste. Then again I dislike the idea of fashion models, but am in favor of legalizing prostitution, so what do I know.

Had another fairly long conversation with the girl from the bar that I have a massive crush on when I was there Saturday night. Sadly, I'm physically incapable of determining the difference between polite friendly chatting with a drunk regular (is: me) and actual interest.

Might actually try to strike up a sober conversation on Facebook though. Ugh, that requires using Facebook. Ah well
