I still have carts that will load on the legit systems but not the R5. Hydlide comes to mind.

You mean it didn't give you the sad face message that comes with some games like Deadly Towers and Shaq Fu?

Tried it again yesterday and now it works.

Strange. But I'm happy it works and the cart isn't garbage.

Weird I had a problem with chrono for a second there on my console(it read it but I must've bumped it somehow) and it decided to say there was some kind of power/read error. Works now but strange...I probably need to upgrade off beta 6 but I'm not sure I want too...

Was just making a bad connection for whatever reason. Glad it's alive and kicking. Most of the time any game I have that comes up as "Unknown" will eventually be recognized with enough persistence.

Encountered a really weird and mega annoying error with my Retron5.

I saved and reset Live a Live (via software, not hardware). When I started the game up....40 saves were missing. Live a Live tracks how many times you've saved, and somehow I was back to a much earlier save file. Reloading my save doesn't seem to work. I don't know if I accidentally restored a save state, but even if I did, I haven't saved over my data so I should be able to get it back, but I'm having no luck.

I've lost all my progress after the Sci-fi chapter. My completed Cowboy chapter data and my almost completed Mecha chapter data have vanished. I'm not optimistic about getting it back, but I'd be delighted if people have any suggestions.

I'm really not in the mood to replay these chapters. I'll probably just move onto another game if I can't get this data back.

I make a save state every time I'm ready to quit just in case of something like that.

Yeah. I guess I should do that, but I assumed that having an actual save file on the system, plus the usual save state where you left off I'd be safe. I guess not!

Well, this probably means I'll be starting the summer marathon slightly sooner than expected.

Silly question - did you start by importing saves to Retron and when finished, returned saves to cartridge?
