Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I cancelled my preorder (just in time) of the new Shin Megami Tensei game for 3DS. It's fun to buy new every once in awhile, but I scored a copy of Skyrim for $2 this weekend and I figure when the hell am I going to have a chance to play both games considering all the other stuff here and there I want to play? SMT is supposed to be 100 hours. Throw in SkyRim and I don't know if I'd have time for anything else.

I have been slashing games left and right from my "to play" list and blocking others using this strategy. There is no time to experience everything I am interested in...Snatch1414 wrote:I cancelled my preorder (just in time) of the new Shin Megami Tensei game for 3DS. So I think I set the record for most updates that required downloading today. Put in LittleBigPlanet2 Special Edition for the first time (I've been slowly going through my library and opening sealed games I want to play) and it required 26 (TWENTY SIX) updates. Yikes.

You guys crack me up. I generally open games as soon as I get home, and then pop 'em in to test and try out the first few minutes of gameplay.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I leave games sealed until I'm all in for playing them. That way if an updated version comes out before I do so, I can still sell the outdated original as new and not lose as much of my investment when I upgrade.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

I keep all of my games in a vault.
A secret vault at that.
Thinking about upgrading to a secret "Game Tomb" but they ain't cheap.

I actually have 10,000 terracotta video games riding massive war chariots prepared within a deep palace in the earth for the time of my death. And when I die, Shigeru Miyamoto and Richard Garriott are actually going to be thrown in when they seal my grave to serve me eternally in the afterlife as my peasant game makers and slaves.Luke wrote:I keep all of my games in a vault.

You'd still have to throw it in every once in a while to grab the updates. Seems like the first party Sony ones are the biggest offenders. God of War: Ascension had a ton as did LittleBigPlanet Kart Racing.BoneSnapDeez wrote:You guys crack me up. I had way more sealed PS3 titles than I had remembered. Most were from holiday sales that I was storing for a rainy day.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
So part of my PS3 "playing" (i.e. downloading updates) was to make sure any DLC that came with the numerous comps I have was downloaded as well.
And it really gets no worse than the Far Cry Compilation. I totally get the FC3 DLC being a code but Far Cry 2 isn't on the disc either - you have to install it to your hard drive from the main PS Home screen when you click on the game icon (similar to how you have to install PSOne games after downloading). That and the fact that somehow Europe got not only 2 on the disc but also Far Cry Classic (which is on the US PSN too). It's $19.99 now if you were holding out and haven't played the earlier games.
