Earlier in the year, i made a post asking "what games do you like, that people usually don't?" this is pretty much the reverse of that topic. What are some popular games that you just don't get the love for?
I didn't dislike it, but Super Mario RPG wasn't as good as people say. It certainly has charm, but it's kind of stereotypical RPG-fare. I liked The Thousand Year Door Better.
I also wasn't too keen on FFX, but that may have been cause i didn't like RPG's much at the time of playing it.
What about you guys?

The "Unpopular Gaming Opinions" thread has a lot of these.
Pretty much any game can constitute for this. SOMEONE out there disliked what you liked and vice-versa.
Not many games I dislike... for me it's all the opposite of the thread title (I liked Gex: Enter the Gecko on PS1, Last Battle for Genesis, etc.)

The "Best Of" and "Worst Of" lists have been done soooo many times. Both are worthless since it usually ends up everyone posting just a repeat list without any sort of review of each game title.
Some originality from the OP would be nice instead of yet another new favorites Thread such as this. Perhaps if this is your "Favorites" type of posting maybe just do one Thread for all your "Best Of" lists?

You started a possible great Thread starter by mentioning the Mario RPG compared to more traditional RPGs such as Final Fantasy. An Edit and Rename of your OP expanding on why the Paper Mario hook due to difference from other RPGs would bring great discussion.KayJay wrote:I didn't dislike it, but Super Mario RPG wasn't as good as people say. Funny I thought Mario RPG was great and the Paper Mario stuff was atrocious. Go figure.
Paper Mario, hate it. It lies about being an RPG with the look of being turned based and gaining XP to level up, but it's so regulated it's infuriating because you quickly learn it's a Rhythm Heaven type game if anything. You really can't stay in an area and level up, once you hit a certain point the game drops the XP earned from many to 1. So you're forced to be very good at timing games where you have to tap just right to deflect half the damage because otherwise you WILL die after a certain point in the game, you're just stuck more or less (and in turn won't do much damage either without timing to do 2x the power.) The sequels were annoying like this too, not so much the Mario & Luigi stuff as you can get by without being a timing whiz.
