I know i will probably get a lot of no's, but i figured i'd ask anyways. I played the game before i played the original B&K, and i love it. I've beaten it twice so far, and i just feel all of the love put into this game by Rare. It has a pretty good Metascore (79) and it's Gamesranking is similar (81), It just seems like there is a lot of hate for this game, even though it got really good scores at the time of it's release (Giant Bomb gave it a perfect 5/5, Ign, Gamespot & Gameinformer gave it an 8 )
I like both Banjo-Kazooie, & Nut's & Bolts. I've come to accept them as two different styles of a game, and you can tell that they were both made with love in them. IMO, the game is a 9/10 for me.
I do, however, ask one thing. That everyone here respect peoples' opinions. In the past, when i've brought this game up, it's caused a lot of butthurt and rudeness, and that's why i was so hesitant to make this topic. All i ask is that politeness and curtesy be taken into account when your writing your messages. Thank you.

Dont worry KayJay. This is racketboy. We may tease a little but we (or at least i've seen over the years) really do like to talk about our favorite games and there's no fear of retribution.
You may have experienced that in other sites but I dont think that will happen here.
So relax buddy.
Talk to us about what you liked best of it! What you didn't like too. How old were you when you first got it? did you beat it over time or in just one sitting?
Stuff like that.
Banjo-kazooie Nuts and bolts is you're childhood defining game! The one that probably made you say "this game was made for me"
I'm sure lots of us have that defining game. This one is yours.
I bought this game a while ago too. But I still haven't got to it yet on my super massive backlog.
do you have any tips or any strategy on some hard level to give some advice on? Stuff like that would be nice to know.
Thanks for sharing and letting me post my own opinion.(even though I havent played it yet!)

Thanks for saying that dude. the people on here have been great, it's just i have a little motto to go by on the internet. I always try to cover my butt as much as possible, and constantly put stuff like "imo", because, honestly, a lot of people get offended quickly (not you guys, just a majority of the internet.)
I wouldn't call it childhood-defining (that reward goes to Twilight Princess. ), but i do love the title immensely! To answer your questions....
I first got it when i was 12, I loved the open ended nature of it, the quirky humor (with a lot of in-jokes about Rare, too), the beautiful orchestrated soundtrack, and the amazing building system. I didn't like how the mission structure was, and i wished it was a little more varied.
The game is pretty easy, so i wouldn't be too worried. I do, however, highly recommend it.

The thing is, they treated a spin-off game like it's a legit sequel and expected everyone to go rush out and buy it... then when they didn't, that sealed the nail in the coffin for Banjo-Kazooie.
I MUCH prefer the style of the old games (3D platformers), but I'm not against this style of play with the vehicles. They just shouldn't have tied it with Banjo-Kazooie.

I agree that they should've treated it as a spin-off. I like to think of it as an extension of the game "Banjo-Pilot" for the GBA.
That's the worst part about this whole thing. The game may have been great, but it did kill B&K. Banjo has such a lush, fairy tail-like world that should really be explored in a new game.

Unless you like the Wii U
Seriously though, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts isn't necessarily a bad game, it is just so far removed from the core mechanic of the original games and it is off putting. It followed the same backlash that games like Star Fox Adventures received for being something completely different than the original material.
For me, I haven't played the game, but I always feel that people's reaction to it really revolves around the distance it sets itself from the originals.
And don't ever fear from enthusing about games. I have always been of the belief that if you enjoy something, no one can definitively tell you that you are wrong or dumb for it. How is that even possible? Sure they can try to, but that just belittles their opinion in the end as it is petty, spiteful and part of an overall negative internet culture.
This is coming from a guy who actually likes motion controls... so you know I am talking from experience haha!
