Is it just me, or does the new "catch rule" seem a little ridiculous?

Not a bit. I believe they are trying to not have a blur between possession and breaking the plane. Don't worry, if the NFL follows the NHL, game changing rules will happen every season to "Keep the consumer interested".

One of the many horrible rule changes in the NHL was the "player in the crease rule". It made perfect sense; the goalie has a teeny tiny area where players can't cross or run into/slash/block the goalies vision/score from.

And if someone got into his crease, the goalie was allowed to push the player out of said crease. Now you can have all five offensive players in the crease, shoving the puck in without taking an honest shot. Wish they would bring the crease rule back.

But for the NFL, it does look like the tuck rule is gone for good.

hardy may be a piece of shit off the field, that's not for me to judge, but him and AD sit 2014. AD pleads guilty and gets cleared to play this year. hardy's charges are dropped and he gets suspended 10 games. am i missing something? regardless if you believe he beat his girl, the charges were dropped. and i thought it was a 4 game suspension for conduct anyway.

Yeah, it'll get appealed, I'm sure it'll be lower. I understand that even being involved in something like this is detrimental to the league's image, so I think a suspension is fine, but if he's OK in the eyes of the law... yeah, I dunno, it's a clusterf&$k.

WHO'RE YOU GUYS HOPING FOR ON DRAFT NIGHT?! I'm thinking if Gurley gets past SD at 17, Jerrah will give in to his "make a splash" ways and trade his 2nd and 5th round picks to get him. I don't necessarily agree with it, but Gurley does seem like a beast. If not, I see him going either CB (Marcus Peters or Kevin Johnson) or DE (whoever the hell's there at 27...).

Gurley's a beast but i wouldn't use a 1st rounder on a rb in todays nfl, especially one that just tore his acl a few months ago. Now that hardy is out 10 games, i think the cowboys go pass rush, rb, then cb. Wouldn't shock me if they took bryce petty in the 3rd.

Yeah. Honestly, I hope they don't. I'd rather solidify the defense before working on the already-really-good offense.

big talk around here is what are titans going to do with the 2nd pick. i hope the cleveland rumor is true and they get their 2 1st rounders and maybe a high 2nd or 3rd this year, and roll with metenburger. i just don't see mariota as a franchise guy. pick up gurley with the 12th, pass rusher with 19 or solidify the o-line, shane ray with the 33. Ray will fall, but someone will scoop him in the mid to bottom first.

Gurley is talented for sure, but how will he respond or recover from that injury? That injury scare plus HB devaluation, I dont see him going that high. Franchise backs aren't what they used to be.
