Yeah I'm not expecting that one or two trips to the marriage counselor fixed or did not fix the issues. But some sort of progress report would be nice. I legit got interested in this situation.
For me personally it has caused issues.
Over the last 15 years or so that I have been with my wife I have always been the regret seller/buyer's remorse. This last year or so My wife has almost put a blunt end to that. Not only that But I personally wanted to kill that habit.
We have fought over the years about buying the games and selling them off and in 3 months or so she see's games coming back in our house. It must of been tuff for her because back then it made me happy but made us broke. She didn't say anything but right before I sold off the genesis collection, I was looking for something and the bedroom was filled with games and games and the look of disgust on her face, made me realize that maybe I went too far. She didn't say anything but her face and her body language told the truth on how she has felt.
Since I have given up on retro collecting our marriage has changed even more for the better. I do play games still but I also spend more time with my wife and kids. My xbox 360 has turned into a DR.WHO Marathon, and my wife is happy now that she can see the walls in our bedroom.
It's a good feeling. My wife is more important and my kids are more important than any video game or system. And the sacrifice that my wife made when it came to quitting smoking and going to dunkin donuts to get 3/4 cups of coffee a day and now for me stopping at thrift store/retro store findings and buying games has made our marriage even more stronger. Now we are focusing on getting a house.
Not sure if I said it earlier, but using a flashcart for your systems condenses those huge collections that would fill up a room into a single cart. Just something to think about.

Yeah but some people actually like going out and getting the game and building up a collection. I did for the longest time. I loved finding genesis games in the wild. It was a quick thrill. People here still love waking up at 5 am on sat and sun to go to yard sales and flea markets. Getting a flash cart kills that thrill. I know I've been there.

so you enjoy buying and hunting for the games more than actually playing them? Well why not open a retro store or just sell here? you still get the thrill of the hunt and you get some side cash? win win
Guys I am all set going back to that habit. I was just answering a question. No way will I do that again. For me its now a waste of time. If I ever want to get back to playing retro 8/16/64 bit era I will just emulate on a pc when I get one

I will try in the next couple of days give a update to everything that we have talked about so far and gone over. At this point its a 50/50 to which way it could go but to say the least I feel that we are both not giving up.
That's all I can say right now but Ill go into detail later on. Not all of it but the points that matter.
