BAMA is the superior game - has an additional versus mode as well as branching paths in the main game which are not present in BAM.

Very reasonable price for a new release.

For those not aware - this was never released on MVS or AES. It was NGCD only. This is a conversion from CD to AES/MVS by Razoola (of MVS Unibios and CPS2-shock cred) - the programming and conversion will be absolute top-notch.
So was this released on the Wii Virtual Console, or did they figure out a way to convert straight from Neo Geo CD?

Just wondering, I've always hoped for a day when I could play Samurai Spirits RPG on a Big Red.

Available on MVS / AES only.

AES is sold out; MVS still has some kits available.

Yes, converted the CD. He also fixed the bugs from the CD and will re-release a fixed CD version later this year or early next year.

The rom will likely be dumped after all carts have shipped in August.

I'd love to see someone finally finish the translation of Samurai Shodown RPG and convert it to AES and MVS

It's been mentioned many times...but not recently. I'm sure it's on his mind - but a public post in the CSII thread might generate a ton of attention at this time...

I guess the big question would be - would SSRPG on the AES/MVS be able to support the memory card?

I mean, it'd be a cool novelty without memory card support, but with it it'd be a must have.

Speaking of BAMA, I got a label for it from Daniele and it's labeled Bust A Move Again EX, which I guess is what the large marquee identifies it as (source: an ancient ng thread I found by googling)... It's just weird

Ordered my repro CPO yesterday, and the powder coating should be done today or in the next day or so. I'm getting awfully excited about this. Next (eventual) step in my mini restoration will be getting the mini marquee lights going again. Then maybe a full recap, the sound IS a little quiet. At the very least the motherboard is coming out eventually to have a unibios put in and a battery mod done

got it. this thing is MINTY. came with a BAMA cart in excellent shape, holo label and everything. very excited. i'll snap some pics of it on soon.

the only thing that is wrong with it is the power switch doesn't work. the thing just turns on when you plug it in. shouldn't be too hard to fix.

For the first time since I got my cab 3 months ago, I have a fully working control panel!! Initially there were 2 dead buttons - fixed with some new microswitches. Also, diagonals weren't registering on player 1. Was hoping that would fix with some new microswitches as well, alas it did not, nor did any of my monkeying around with it fix them (bending the levers, trying to fiddle with the actuator, etc). So I coughed up and bought some new iL Eurosticks.

Decided if I was gonna do it, I was gonna do it right: Pulled off the old control panel overlay (there was a chip on the lower right hand corner and some sort of not-a-cigarette-butt burn or melting on the left side), stripped the control panel entirely, got it powder coated (previous owner had brushed black enamel onto the part between the CPO and the memory cart port... ugh), got a replacement CPO from Quarter Arcade, bought new carriage bolts to attach it and sprayed those black because the ones that were holding it on were all mismatched and terrible and I stripped half of them getting them off anyway. Didn't replace buttons, just gave them a good cleaning, but there must have been a tiny crack on one of the yellow buttons because the plastic started peeling a bit, so between that and the fact that one of my green buttons was clearly ALREADY replaced (only horizontal mount microswitch, rest are vertical) I'm likely going to eventually replace all of them too. While I had it torn apart, I fixed the memory card port (had some... nasty yellow gunk in the pins, I have no idea what, as well as being COVERED in dust), as well as removing the cobwebs from inside and taking some clorox wipes to the wiring to try to get it nice and bright too.

Pictures to follow tomorrow, it's basically midnight now and honestly other than in my kitchen I don't have much in the way of "good lighting" in my house (I've always been a bit of a vampire, even before I started working overnights). Only thing I'm missing right now is the headphone/memory card sticker because I couldn't save my old one, emdkay.net shut down, and Jasen's on a submarine till September. I'm thinking I'm just going to get one from Jasen in September, but if anyone knows where I can find one before then feel free to let me know.

Next step on my "Make a good condition cabinet into a great condition cabinet" plan is probably going to involve pulling the motherboard out:
-- I need to clean the cart slots because Slot 1 and occasionally 2 are very finicky - they work, all 4 slots work, but Slot 1 usually requires several reseats and Slot 2 occasionally does
-- I really need to replace the battery. Will likely add a coin cell holder.
-- Left channel sound is really, really quiet. Might try to recap the board and see if that helps it, if not I'll appeal to James's expertise and see if he can help diagnose it.
-- I think I'm going to powder coat the metal cover (it's pretty cheap, surprisingly)
-- I'll likely throw in a unibios because they're awesome

But on the whole, I want to enjoy playing it for a couple months before I even think about that, because I know if I start with the pulling the motherboard out, it'll be ripped apart for at least a month again, and this is the first time I've had both P1 and P2 fully working! Because y'know... being able to hit diagonals was kinda a big deal for fighting games

I gots Windjammers. Yay.

Now I just need to get Money Idol Exchanger and Twinkle Star Sprites, and my MVS holy grail list will be complete.

Well, I'd love to get SSVS too, but I think I'll just have to settle for a bootie on that one.
