Listening to it, I can see where some of the producers tried to stick a little too much to the source material instead of making it their own. ASLA, Vincenzo Salvia, and Beatbox Machinery do some of my favorites so far.

lol same. It's so squeaky clean and the vocals are dangerously close to buttrock.

I do recall liking some Kamelot back in the 90s, can't remember exactly what.

I keep forgetting that metal heads don't like anything that's actually pleasing to the ear. Good vocals and production are "too squeaky clean".

Nah, it's just that this particular style doesn't do anything for them. Some of these folks don't much care for a lot of newer thrash metal, and truth be told, I don't much care for a lot of Bone's black metal, but oh well. I also don't really care much for Kamelot either, but I have some friends who are power metal fans that I expect will enjoy it.

Different strokes and all.

Some amount of shit-talkin' is part of this thread as well as most every metal discussion on the web.

No need to take things personally.

I insult bands & genres I like more than ones I dislike anyway.

And yes, good production is bad.
