Don't know about X, but the previous one (Mortal Kombat) was amazing with a gamepad, so I'd go for it. I like Mortal Kombat the most out of all the combinations for special moves fighters, because they never ask you to do quarti-semi-full circles with the d-pad, which is a pain. Instead you just press Back Back Front Circle and you bicycle kick your way through your opponents face
