I've tried loading certain MAME roms from different places and they refuse to show up in the "Available" list using MAMEUI32. I've checked to make sure they have the correct naming as far as the zip files goes, but I'll get lucky if one or two show up when refreshing the list out of the ten or so I download.
Are these bad dumps, or are certain games locked out? Is there a good resource to get proper individual MAME releases?
Can't get MAME roms to show up on refresh (MAMEUI32)...

If you don't have the proper bios for some games they just don't show up. There's a bunch here http://www.emunews.eu/?page_id=2. Just put them in your rom directory and your games should start showing up.

I'm assuming I leave them as zip files in the rom directory then?
Also, are the Capcom ZN1 & ZN2 for CPS games like Final Fight?

Yup just leave them zipped. I just found a pack with a whole bunch of bios' I think it's the same one I got awhile back, it should cover pretty much everything. http://hosted.filefront.com/moneykaillera/

Cool. I went ahead and got the pack to make things easier.
Would there be any other reason for a ROM not to show up in the list?

Sometimes games won't show up for me because they're not the right version. Usually I just try getting it from different sites till it works. But that isn't always successful and I just give up.

Yeah, I think I might have some incorrect versions. I typically go to Romnation or Doperoms for MAME stuff.

Well after installing all the BIOS files, many roms are still not showing up. Guess I have bad versions then.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a place with correct individual MAME releases?

I've still had no luck with this. I've downloaded both Final Fight and Strider from several different sites and they never show up in the list. Rom Center even says they are correct.
Guess I'm going try Kawaks to play these instead.

Well, Kawaks plays Final Fight and Strider just fine. Weird.
Now if I could just get Battle Bakraid to work in MAME.
