With the new Street Fighter movie coming out, we all know that there are OTHER things that were adapted to film that we feel should be redone.
My votes are for:
House of the Dead
Uwe Boll really boned the pooch on this one. While a decent Z-grade zombie flick, it was horrendous in both acting and continuity with the games. The new film would be based around both the events before and during House of the Dead 1, focusing on Curien's mad quest to defeat death.
I vote Jeffrey Combs as Curien, and the rest of the cast TBD.
Alone in the Dark
Yet another Uwe Boll shitfest.
The new film would be based on the first game, incorporating the Lovecraftian feel of the real Alone in the Dark.
No cast choices yet, but NO TARA REID!!!!
Doom
Naturally, it'd replace the mutant bullshit of the movie with the demons from Hell from the game.
No casting yet, but it's mostly just one guy.
Spider-Man
The major flaw of all Marvel films in recent years is their basis on the Ultimate Marvel.
Mine would be based on the comics that I read as a kid back in the '80s.
And I'd cram a king's ransom in villains into a scant three films.
X-Men
Singer's films were, aside from being based on the crap Ultimate Marvel, were BORING!!
I mean, 90% of the trilogy was talking, whereas that same percentage of the comics and cartoon was action sequences and intricate plot.
Basically, a live-action of the TAS from the '90s is what I'd do.
MORE TO COME.

This thread basically screams MAX PAYNE. Ditch the stupid new gritty action movie cliches and go for that of a film noir. It could be a modern noir masterpiece if put in the right hands... and if they cast it right (god I am sick of whalberg.)
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

I dunno, HOTD wasn't that bad. it's worth watching just for Liberty if it's to be remade it must include that woman !
Doom was also turned into 4 novels and having read them I'd say they'd make a fine set of movies ala Alien with the right director.

I dunno, wasn't the original game basically inspired by stupid action movie cliches?

The game was set to be a modern Film Noir, so of course it had it's share of cliches, that's kinda the whole deal with the genre. The movie nixed the whole noir thing and just made it a shitty action movie.Jrecee wrote:"This thread basically screams MAX PAYNE. That was painful to watch. Dear god. And the scenes that took place. . . in a living room, wow.

I actually sat there with my mouth hanging open, groaning the entire time. Then I read the fine print about it being a fan film trailer. Now I don't feel so bad.Anapan wrote:I wish this was a joke
